If you’re a Dominion Energy Ohio customer, don’t be alarmed if you suddenly started receiving bills from Enbridge Gas Ohio. It’s just a name change. In March, Enbridge Inc purchased Dominion Energy. Now that this Ohio gas utility is now Enbridge Gas Ohio, how does this affect your bills?

Easy Transition To Enbridge Gas Ohio

First and foremost, this isn’t going to change anything about how you currently pay your bills. If you have payment arrangements or budget billing, that’s not going to change any time soon. Currently only the parent company and name have changed. However, things will begin changing soon, starting with rebranding and website updates. Where you go to pay your bills will change in the near future, too. So be sure to keep an eye on how these changes progress.

Business As Usual For Ohio Gas Customers

After being purchased by Enbridge Inc, Dominion Energy Ohio (now Enbridge Gas Ohio) will continue as an independent business and go forward with business as usual. The deals, however, provides better access to large amounts of natural gas. The new utility company supplies around 400 communities across 27 counties in Ohio. This means Enbridge will be serving a large quantity of customers through out Ohio and across the country.

What Does The Sale Mean For You?

The big thing to take away from this is that nothing is changing right now. However, changes will be coming in the near future. Enbridge Gas Ohio predicts that updates to the website, billing access, and branding on bills will change within the next few months. On the other hand, things that will not be changing include customer account numbers, the phone number to contact the gas utility and again, any currently set up payment agreements.

The new utility also issued a statement warning against scammers during this transition period. Scammers take advantage of unsure situations like this to scare customers. So, it is important to remember that no Dominion Energy or Enbridge Gas Ohio employee will ever call you or show up at your home to demand payment. Your billing will not change for now . When it comes time to change, you will have ample warning.

Unsure?
