Cheapest Electricity Plans for First Energy Utilities<\/span><\/h2>\n

Ohio customers for a select few utilities could be having lower electricity bills by the end of June.\u00a0<\/span>FirstEnergy<\/strong> Utilities<\/span><\/a> held auctions recently to purchase electricity for customers, this changed their Price To Compare (PTC) for their Ohio utilities. Because of this change, \u00a0Ohio electricity rates<\/a>\u00a0from retail suppliers might decrease for June. This means more chances to save money! If your utilities are\u00a0<\/span>Ohio Edison<\/b>, <\/span>Toledo Edison<\/b>, or <\/span>Illuminating Company<\/b>, now is the time to shop for\u00a0<\/span>cheap electricity plans<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

FirstEnergy Utility Companies<\/span><\/h3>\n

Ohio Edison\u2019s<\/b> PTC<\/span><\/a> is currently 5.45 cents per kWh. At the same time <\/span>Toledo Edison\u2019s<\/b> PTC<\/span><\/a>\u00a0also rests at 5.54 cents per kWh. On the other hand, The Illuminating Company’s<\/strong> PTC<\/a> is 5.51 cents per kWh. While all of these FirstEnergy<\/strong> utilities have different PTC, the state’s retail electricity suppliers are offering plans with slightly different prices in each service area.<\/span><\/p>\n

Constellation Energy\u2019s<\/b> 12 Month Home Power Plan<\/span><\/a> is the cheapest 12 month electricity plan in all FirstEnergy<\/strong> Utility areas<\/span>. With a rate of 4.79 cents per kWh, it undercuts the PTC significantly. While it does have a $25 cancellation fee, <\/span>Constellation’s <\/b>Satisfaction\u00a0Guarantee negates the fee for 90 days. So if you aren\u2019t satisfied with the service, you can leave within 90 days of starting without paying the fee.<\/span><\/p>\n

Apples to Apples Compare Electricity Rates<\/span><\/h3>\n

Energy Harbor\u2019s<\/b> Safe Harbor 12<\/a> is the second cheapest 12 month plan available in Ohio Edison<\/strong> and Toledo Edison<\/strong> areas. With a rate of 5.05 cents per kWh, though it lags behind Constellation\u2019s<\/b> rate, it still beats the PTC. Energy Harbor<\/b> does beat Constellation\u2019s<\/b> plan in one regard, it has no cancellation fee at any point during the plan. While Constellation<\/b> will negate the cancellation fee for the first 90 days, there isn\u2019t a fee at all for Energy Harbor<\/b>. As the contract ends, Energy Harbor<\/strong> will contact the customer about renewing the contract at a new rate, usually about \u00a090-45 days before the plan ends.<\/p>\n

Xoom Energy\u2019s<\/b> SureLock 12<\/span><\/a>\u00a0has the honor of being the second cheapest plan in the <\/span>Illuminating Company\u2019s<\/b> territory. It has a low rate of 5.09 cents per kWh, however the high $110 cancellation fee provides less flexibility. On the other hand, it has a rewards program. Customers can earn rewards dollars to use for shopping, either in person or online shopping. Near the end of the plans length, customers should receive a notification if the plan will be renewed, including a new rate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Compare First Energy Utility Electricity Rates<\/span><\/h3>\n

While <\/span>Constellation Energy<\/b> is the cheapest plan in all of the utility territories owned by\u00a0<\/span>First Energy<\/b>, it does have some flaws. <\/span>Xoom Energy<\/b> has a high cancellation fee, but has a rewards program that <\/span>Constellation<\/b> doesn\u2019t offer. While <\/span>Energy Harbor<\/b> has no cancellation fee at all, so if you have to leave, <\/span>Energy Harbor<\/b> wouldn\u2019t cost a dime to leave. But these First Energy Price to Compare rates are only prices for June, and they could change significantly to July. <\/span><\/p>\n
