There&#8217;s still several Ohio retail electricity suppliers with plans that beat First Energy&#8217;s PTC rates.<\/em><\/center><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cheapest Electricity Plans for First Energy Utilities<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ohio customers for a select few utilities could be having lower electricity bills by the end of June.\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energycentral.com\/news\/firstenergy-ohio-residential-customers-taking-generation-service-utility-will-pay-lower-prices?utm_medium=eNL&amp;utm_campaign=DAILY_NEWS&amp;utm_content=494952&amp;utm_source=2020_06_04\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>FirstEnergy<\/strong> Utilities<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> held auctions recently to purchase electricity for customers, this changed their Price To Compare (PTC) for their Ohio utilities. Because of this change, \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohenergyratings.com\/electricity-rates\">Ohio electricity rates<\/a>\u00a0from retail suppliers might decrease for June. This means more chances to save money! If your utilities are\u00a0<\/span><b>Ohio Edison<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Toledo Edison<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, or <\/span><b>Illuminating Company<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, now is the time to shop for\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohenergyratings.com\/ohio-electricity-rates-by-city\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">cheap electricity plans<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FirstEnergy Utility Companies<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.energychoice.ohio.gov\/ApplesToApplesComparision.aspx?Category=Electric&amp;TerritoryId=7&amp;RateCode=1\"><b>Ohio Edison\u2019s<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> PTC<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is currently 5.45 cents per kWh. At the same time <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.energychoice.ohio.gov\/ApplesToApplesComparision.aspx?Category=Electric&amp;TerritoryId=3&amp;RateCode=1\"><b>Toledo Edison\u2019s<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> PTC<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0also rests at 5.54 cents per kWh. On the other hand, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.energychoice.ohio.gov\/ApplesToApplesComparision.aspx?Category=Electric&amp;TerritoryId=6&amp;RateCode=1\"><strong>The Illuminating Company&#8217;s<\/strong> PTC<\/a> is 5.51 cents per kWh. While all of these <strong>FirstEnergy<\/strong> utilities have different PTC, the state&#8217;s retail electricity suppliers are offering plans with slightly different prices in each service area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohenergyratings.com\/plans\/constellation\/details\/12-month-home-power-plan\"><b>Constellation Energy\u2019s<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 12 Month Home Power Plan<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the cheapest 12 month electricity plan in all <strong>FirstEnergy<\/strong> Utility areas<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. With a rate of 4.79 cents per kWh, it undercuts the PTC significantly. While it does have a $25 cancellation fee, <\/span><b>Constellation&#8217;s <\/b>Satisfaction<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Guarantee negates the fee for 90 days. So if you aren\u2019t satisfied with the service, you can leave within 90 days of starting without paying the fee.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apples to Apples Compare Electricity Rates<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohenergyratings.com\/plans\/energy-harbor\/details\/safe-harbor-12\"><b>Energy Harbor\u2019s<\/b> Safe Harbor 12<\/a> is the second cheapest 12 month plan available in <strong>Ohio Edison<\/strong> and <strong>Toledo Edison<\/strong> areas. With a rate of 5.05 cents per kWh, though it lags behind <b>Constellation\u2019s<\/b> rate, it still beats the PTC. <b>Energy Harbor<\/b> does beat <b>Constellation\u2019s<\/b> plan in one regard, it has no cancellation fee at any point during the plan. While <b>Constellation<\/b> will negate the cancellation fee for the first 90 days, there isn\u2019t a fee at all for <b>Energy Harbor<\/b>. As the contract ends, <strong>Energy Harbor<\/strong> will contact the customer about renewing the contract at a new rate, usually about \u00a090-45 days before the plan ends.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohenergyratings.com\/plans\/xoom-energy\/details\/surelock-12\"><b>Xoom Energy\u2019s<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> SureLock 12<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0has the honor of being the second cheapest plan in the <\/span><b>Illuminating Company\u2019s<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> territory. It has a low rate of 5.09 cents per kWh, however the high $110 cancellation fee provides less flexibility. On the other hand, it has a rewards program. Customers can earn rewards dollars to use for shopping, either in person or online shopping. Near the end of the plans length, customers should receive a notification if the plan will be renewed, including a new rate.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Compare First Energy Utility Electricity Rates<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While <\/span><b>Constellation Energy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the cheapest plan in all of the utility territories owned by\u00a0<\/span><b>First Energy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, it does have some flaws. <\/span><b>Xoom Energy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has a high cancellation fee, but has a rewards program that <\/span><b>Constellation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> doesn\u2019t offer. While <\/span><b>Energy Harbor<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has no cancellation fee at all, so if you have to leave, <\/span><b>Energy Harbor<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> wouldn\u2019t cost a dime to leave.
