This year’s Consumer Electronics Showcase (CES) has come to a close but the gadgets this year are just as cool. We’re going to look at 5 of my favorite picks to upgrade your home. From saving you money to saving your back, these are my 2023 smart home CES picks.

Saving Water And Saving Money

Programmable sprinkler systems have been around for a long time, but can be a pain to deal with. Moen’s new Smart Sprinkler Controller can be a great way to save water without sacrificing your lawn. The new Moen system uses soil monitors to gauge the dryness of your soil. This can reduce your water usage by up to 30%, saving you money in the long run. If you’re the kind of person who loves a lush lawn, check it out and see if it’s right for you.

Cool Your Smart Home In Style

Big, clunky air conditioners are quickly becoming a thing of the past with the new LG Artcool Gallery ductless air conditioner. This wall mounted air conditioner can display beautiful landscape photos, family photos, or even animated scenes. Why sacrifice wall space in your home when you can benefit from something beautiful. However, this system does run a couple thousand dollars, depending on the size you get.

A New Twist On Indoor Gardening

Another from LG, the LG Tiiun (romanized Korean for “to sprout”) looks like a wine cooler but actually helps germinate your seeds. The Tiiun was originally teased at the 2022 CES, but finally came out this year. The only downside? The Tiiun is only available in Korea at the moment. But this would be a fantastic option for apartment dwellers looking to bolster their diet with some fresh greens. I can’t wait to see this come to the US.

Smart Way to Clean Your Home

Do you hate vacuuming? I do. That’s why I think the Roborock S8 Ultra sounds like one of the best inventions on the planet. It doesn’t just vacuum. It mops, it cleans, and it empties itself into its base and cleans its own mop head. Set it on a schedule and forget about having to clean your floors. Just change the water and empty the bin as needed. As someone who has pets, I love my ancient little robot vacuum I’ve had for years, but this would change the game. The Roborock S8 Ultra releases in April 2023 and will retail for about $1633.

Be The Flock Of The Town

It’s silly, but so cute. The Bird Buddy Smart Bird Feeder may sound like a very ridiculous item, and it is. It’s a video enabled bird feeder that lets you take a peek in on your local feathered friends. The Bird Buddy will even send you a phone alert so you can watch them through the feeder. The AI powered app will identify them, and take pictures so you can see all of the wildlife in your area. You can even add on a solar roof to it to save more on electricity.

Kit Out Your Home With The Coolest New Inventions

This list doesn’t even scratch the surface of the tech presented at CES this year. There are so many cool things coming out that can make a big impact on your home. And if you’re in the market for a new electricity plan, we’ve got you covered. You can shop around for anywhere in Ohio. Check them all out at www.ohenergyratings.com
