Emergency response time
After the horrible storm here in Lake County on 08/06/24, trees down, lines down, cats & dogs living together, they were RIGHT ON IT doing the repairs needed to get everyone's power back. Only 48 hours for me and I couldn't be happier with the response time. Thank you again. |

Excellent treatment and service from Ohio Edison!
Im 68 years old and discovered an outage in my home after my son dropped me off at 10 oclock tonight. I recently had shoulder surgery and panicked at the notion of walking around in the dark. I called the outage number that I found on Google, and was treated exceptionally well by the gentleman who took my call. He could hear the panic in my voice, Im sure, and reached out to one of the Service men who were still out at this hour. Then he immediately called me back to tell me someone would be coming within the half hour. The service man did come, discovered the problem on the outside of my house, and had it fixed in no time at all. I cant tell you what his courtesy and kindness meant to me! Thank you, Ohio, Edison, for employing these kinds of people. As a sidenote, while all my other bills continue to skyrocket, I can always count on my electric bill to stay in an affordable range for me. I never, ever worry that my electric bill will be so high that I cant pay it. Thank you again! |

Why have you not sent me a bill in two years after multiple request to take me off paperless billing.?
I have called over and over requesting a paper bill. Instead each month your agents call me at work to harass me about my late payment and argue with me about bill payment. I have to pay my bill as a guest on the website being charged $5 extra each month and also racking up late fees because I have no idea when or how much my bill is each month. I have to wait until I get a random text every now and then to even know what I owe and then click the link to pay the bill with extra fees and late fees. I have asked multiple times for your company to change this.
I even had to block your phone number because your workers are rude and call multiple times for days harrassing me to pay the bill or lose service. I have said many times I want a paper bill every month. How hard is this for your company to figure out? I was assuming since I have spoke to many English speaking agents l, the one of the many would have understood the words coming out of my mouth about requesting a paper bill to be delivered each month. I have no account number, no account online to sign into. I feel as if you do not wanna comply with my request and feel it's okay to instead have your agents call and harass me each month instead, you need to have a supervisor call me and work this out and until this happens I refuse to pay a bill unless it is detailed and sent to my mailbox the way bills were paid for as long as I have lived on this earth. If you refuse to call me to explain why your staff has failed to meet my request....... Then a bill will not be paid until one is received on paper in my mailbox. I will contact a lawyer if needed and ensure I don't lose service. If you want money from me I demand a bill. If not you can take care of every months bill yourself or send an agent to my house daily until they catch me at home and you can hand me a statement and bill detailed with all my fees. If a late fee is included in any payment it is up to you as a company to remove them as you decided you didn't want to bill me so I refuse to pay any late fees what so ever. I will discuss this with a lawyer and I will take any legal measures necessary to ensure you stop changing me late fees for your own companies mistakes. I have no bill or due date until it arrives in my mailbox. I work Monday thru Friday during your business hours and am not an employee of your company. If you wish me to take a day off work to call and beg your lazy employees to send me a bill I expect to be compensated for my day off at $22 per hour 10 hours per day. This will be paid or it will be taken off of my bill. I have sent emails and even tried to call in the past quite a few times. I have done all I am willing to do to obtain my bill, account number, and make a payment, I will make no more efforts without compensation for my time. If I have to take a Friday off of work to call your company I will be paid $33 an hour including my overtime pay. I will expect this if I need to take a Friday off to call you idiots. The smart thing to do is send me a dang bill and quit ignoring my request to do so. I feel you should drug test all agents I have spoke to in the past, and maybe replace them if they can not follow the simple instructions and do their jobs. I would also like a credit for all past paid late fees you have charged me after multiple demands for a paper bill being ignored. Any late fee I have paid in the last year needs to be looked into and immediately credited back to my account because those are your fault, not mine. If I have to take a day off monthly to come pick up a copy of my bill I will demand you credit my account for my daily pay. I am not on your payroll, don't make me do your damn job you idiots. |

Service Restoration
First off my service was shut off less than a week after the due date. They left a notice that if I called before 12:30 it could be restored the same day. I made my payment online and tried to call to provide them the confirmation code around 11:30. The wait time was nearly an hour at that time so I chose the call back option. It is over 2 hours and I haven't heard anything. I have no power two kids, three animals and a fridge full of food and it's nearly 80 degrees outside! If I had another option for a provider I would switch. They have no competition so they don't have to worry about customer retention. |

Ohio Edison Scammers!!
First Energy did not conduct business in an incompetent way, but Ohio Edison conducts business like a scam risk seeking to get reconnection fees from clients. I started new service at a new address. I never received a bill in the mail as requested. One of the genius representatives enrolled me in online billing instead. So, instead of receiving a paper bill, I received a disconnection notice stuck in my door. I paid the bill and I called about the missing bill and then requested another paper bill again, but to no avail. Another genius rep. failed to get this rightno bill, but this time, 15 days later, my service was disconnected a matter of hours after the due date. In other words, the missing bill was due April 16fh and the service was disconnected the morning of April 17thno phone call, email, or notice. Its a scam an 0 accountability on Ohio Edisons part. i called and waited for a return phone call for 3 hours on the 17th and again for over an hour wait to speak to Hannah. She was the worst one yet with her condescending and unaccountable tone. This company sucks canal water and consumers need more choice in this marketplace. Hence the reason they think they can treat customers any way they choose. Disappointed & Frustrated |

Rip off
I signed up with energy harbor, & instead of my monthly bill being cheaper it went up $60.
I guess that's Ohio Edison way of retaliating against people for signing up for cheaper rates. There were 3 adults in my house, now there's 2. They're saying more kilowatts were used.... |

Scamming Years Later
We had had their service when we lived in Ohio, constantly had misread meters, very frequent power outages, and now after 4 years even after me and my wife moved and canceled our account we are suddenly being charged 234 dollars with no explanation. 4 YEARS after we moved and cancelled. This company is impossible to reach and we would NEVER recommend using their services. Report to the BBB if you can people! |
