Faulty Loopholes Double the Bill

 My bills with Just Energy have skyrocketed due to an expired contract. The total for the last three months was $622 and I live in a one bedroom apartment and I keep the temperature at 70 degrees. According to the Public Utility Commission of Texas website, which is linked below, "retail electric providers are required to notify residential customers at least 30 days before a contract expires". I was told by their costumer service representative, that Just Energy no longer sends out formal notification letters 30 days prior to expiration, instead they include the expiration date on the monthly bill, which is in a very obscure location in fine print. This practice is not an adequate attempt to notify customers that their contract is going to expire. It would appear that Just Energy is employing this faulty loophole to increase the likelihood that consumers will not notice or become aware of their pending expiration date, allowing the company to falsely justify charging the monthly variable rate.

I have called and attempted to reach a solution with Just Energy multiple times over the course of a month, every time I am told that they are investigating the situation and that a manager will call me back but I have not been able to reach anyone or receive an answer. Their customer service representatives are unwilling to offer the previous fixed rate from our initial contract, forcing me to either continue paying their extremely high rate, or seek out a contract with another company while rates are at their highest due to summer temperatures. It is very burdensome to find time in my schedule each week and attempt to resolve the situation over the phone for over an hour, only to be told that someone will call me back. Just Energy must know this and it would seem that their customer service practices make the process intentionally difficult so that consumers will grow weary and give up on reimbursement.

The left several messages to billing department and would not return my call. Could not get a live person for weeks and hours on the phone!!! They are a joke!

 They are only good as long as your promotion is good, once your promotion is over, be ready to have what I call rip off. My monthly bill would normally be below 100 for a 3 bd house, after the 12 months contract, my bill went up to 300s and my current 2 months bill is 632. They also have the worst customer service. When you place a call, be prepared to wait for over 10 minutes to be serve and even when you get a chance to talk to someone, they are not helpful either, often times, you will get hang up on and have to start over again, very frustrating dealing with them to solve an issue. Comparing my experience with other companies, I would not recommend them based on what I did hit with.

 First of all my electric bill has been about 15% less overall than my previous electric company's bill. Secondly, I was recently laid off from work and have had a lot of problems making ends meet. Just energy has actually cancelled late fees and given me all the extensions I needed during these hard times. Also their rewards for customer loyalty aren't half bad. I highly recommend them.

They only post good reviews

 I've been a customer for 5 years pay my bills on time and never had any problems until the last couple of months. Customer service fail to follow through on the contract that I needed to place after mine expired. They said they call me they never did and they never left a message and called me a liar as to a new contract in new rates. I've called several times they have gouged me on my last bill because I didn't have a contract and they charge me $0.16 per kilowatt which I find very disgusting. All my other bills were at 12 and 13 cents per kilowatt I will never do business with anybody that treats me like you have treated me again. I called and requested a rewrite change on my last bill because I do live on Social Security and I can't pay the whole bill if that gouging rate. I have never been so insulted in my life do not ever do business with these people they told me no unless I sign a new contract at an outrageous and they have no good plans available I've already been offered a better plan with $100 signing bonus. Never been so disgusted my life with an electrical provider don't ever use these people and don't believe all the good comments

I do not recommend Just Energy

 In the summer of 2017, Just Energy had a booth/table at HEB in Sugar Land on Highway 6. Just Energy was promoting an electricity plan of "Free Nights 9pm-7am and a rate of 9.3kwh." They were handing out cards with this info on it. I still have the one they gave me. I signed up with Just Energy through the use of an IPAD. Somehow, the IPAD converted my plan to something else. Just Energy made a bunch of excuses and said that I signed for the Free Nights 9.3 promotion and that the bait and switch contract would get fixed. I then started dealing with a supervisor who eventually cut my bill in half in the beginning to try and fix the problem. Her name is Elena Cuellar. She acknowledged in emails that my issues needed to get fixed and that Just Energy didn't have a program to determine how much electricity was used at night versus during the day. This October 2017 email is the last email she sent until May 2018.

The whole marketing campaign appears to be a scam to get people to sign up and then bait and switch the customer and then try to wear him down with delays. After disappearing for 7 months, Ms. Cuellar emailed the following:

She never called. I have made 2 or 3 calls to Just Energy since that email and have been told that a supervisor will call me back. As of right now, a supervisor has not returned my calls. I talked to a supervisor today who said she would call me back by 1:00pm. Hopefully she will call me back. I do not recommend this company. As of today, I don't know what HEB's connection is to this company other than HEB let them inside their store to promote the "Free Nights and 9.3."

 Okay most of the reviews on here or good but let's look at reality for billing department is not the greatest they are human sometimes their automated system works and sometimes it doesn't they hire a lot of customer service people that are only trained and uneducated not there ball as far as them being uneducated probably rewards you with perks I've had to call a couple times to get it updated my account and getting told a couple of different stories the rates are okay Again by I'm not real excited about any of the companies

They do not read your meter for energy consumption, what they do is they average what they think you're going to use based on average consumption around your neighborhood and apply the fictititous energy costs to you, Do not i repeat do not fall for whatever ridiculous teaser rates they have. They have ridiculous charges to make up for it. I understand energy companies are all about the fine print, but with just energy it is beyond ridiculous. My energy usage apparently quadrupled in months in which i was never at home. My january 2017 bill read about 1.5KWH, a time in which i was always at home because i had lost work. This year my january and february elec bill read almost 3KWH, and I am never at home 6 out of the 7days of the week. Thats why I say they do not read meters. This is an abhorrent company and I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. They are absolutely disgusting

Great company! Give them a CHANCE!!

 I had my first door to door with keisha a couple of months ago.She had an accent and I found out she was from New York. Don't usually talk to anyone who knocks on my door. I was hesitant on giving her my bill, but she was more helpful than anything. She broke down my bill for me showed me my true rate and then explained to me what just energy offers. I have seen the bad reviews from the past and told her I didn't know. She understood didn't push it. I finally said let me sign up cause I felt this really can help me from what she showed me. Everything she told me was true, she was straightforward, very confident, patient and she wasn't trying to push me to get it. Sounds like they just need more door door people with her smile and honesty. I am happy with my bill and will remain a customer. If I had any problems she also informed me to contact her directly so that she is aware and can address the situation as soon a possible. Just Energy does have good people working for them!

I have a 1000 sq foot apartment, and for the month of January 2018 my bill is $298. Sure it was cold and I ran the heat, but not $300 worth.  Been with just energy 4 years and never had a problem until December when I moved in another apartment after hurricane Harvey. My first bill was for $483 dollars my first Month and I nearly had a heart attack! I'm a disabled veteran on limited fixed income and this bill is more than I pay for my rent. I only have my TV on most of the time although I had to use the Heat during this Bad cold spell in December and January which was unusual in Texas. I set up a payment plan for a hundred dollars to keep the lights on and still my lights were disconnected! Every time I called it was nearly an hour wait and the people you deal with are rude and cop attitudes when their lies are exposed and they just hang up on you! Got a new bill this month with an extra $100 fee for the false disconnection I thought I had already explained as being false. My bill is now $666 dollars the number of the beast which they are exactly that. My apartment is one bedroom townhome but I'm afraid I will have to move yet again because they will continue to gouge my eyes out over ridiculous charges that have no basis in reality. Say a prayer and don't deal with these crooks or you will be freaking possessed by high electric prices

I was told by a rep from Power To Choose that I could call Just Energy on Monday Feb 5 and cancel my service and not be charged an Early Termination Fee.
Well it turns out that someone else called Just Energy Sat Feb 3 and Cancelled my service and for me to be charged $175.00 for Early Termination Fee . A rep from Just Energy told me since I was the one who should call first that the charge would not be forgiven. I think that is being a little difficult since I have no control who placed the call before me

No compassion

 Im a home health care provider who is caring for an 81 year old man on hospice and i got him set up for the 90$ flat rate plan due to his oxygen usage and his bills being over 100$ just about every month. We both live in south texas where it barely gets to freezing. He lives alone in a small apartment. I was not informed on my client not getting the 90$ flat rate plan until two billing cycles had went by and when i explained it to the rep. He didnt care had no compassion what so ever. He couldve atleast apologized for the first rep who set the flat rate plan up. I understand how frustrating it is to work in billing i use to do the same for a cellphone company but you always had to show compassion and hold your composure. Hope that rep has a better day and learns what customer service really is.

Absolutely Horrible Service!!!!!!

 I requested that my service be transferred to my first apartment-- this was not done correctly and an error made on the end of Just Energy-- that error cost me $100 in fees.
Then I had to move again due to Hurricane Harvey and requested that service be transferred again-- once again not done correctly-- error on behalf of Just Energy and once again resulted in another $100 in fees. Each time I call-- I get the runaround-- no one seems to know what is going on. I am told that some one will call and NO CALL OR RESOLUTION TO DATE. This has been going on for months now. As of now I am owed $200 in fees. I am told the "operations department" will call -- note this mystical department has no direct line, email or address.
Word of warning-- avoid the EXPENSE AND HASSEL AND GET YOUR ELECTRICITY SERVICE FROM SOMEONE ELSE!!!

Exit Fee

 Just energy disappointed me at the beginning when I signed on for a new account. I signed on for one year, but when I received my first bill it listed my contract for three years. I called and disputed this contract but they advised that their records reflected a 3 year account, Since the rate was reasonable, I did not pursue a prolonged complaint process. On November 18, 2017, I received a notice that my plan will expire on 1/2/2018. "NO TERMINATION FEE SHALL APPLY IF YOU TERMINATE YOUR CONTRACT 14 DAYS PRIOR TO 1/2/2018. AND IF YOU CALL US AT 1.877.240.3931 YOU CAN CANCEL AT ANY TIME WITHOUT A TERMINATION FEE.
I contacted a Just energy rep to advise that I was changing to another provider and wanted to notify Just that I was changing and inquired about the termination fee. The rep said no problem, there's never a termination fee. But When I received my final bill, there is a $175 exit fee - which to me is the same as a termination fee. This is really deceptive and misleading to the customer. I plan to pursue this deceptive practice with the Public Utility /commission and Texas Attorney General Office. Even though I will pay this disputed exit fee, I am now very distrustful of just Energy and will not recommend Just Energy to my friends or family.

 I signed for free nights. My first bill was $64.00 for 5 days! They were charging me 11.5 per kWh. My next bill for a month's service was $386+! When I called to ask about the $146.87 "pass thru" charge that was not on my first bill, the rep ignored my question and copped an attitude. When I signed up for the service, no one mentioned that charge I switched back to my former plan where I pay 9.6'per kWh.

Just Energy is a ripoff. You better read the fine print if they stop you in HEB to tell you how much you will save!

I called and they informed me that it had to be called in and the letter was not sufficient then added this exit fee as a result. Who ever heard of such a ridiculous thing? No one. That is crazy. I paid it and received another bill of $448! Before I could pay that another bill was generated for another $4??.??!! That was it for me. I switched back to the light company I was using and right away received a bill from Just Energy for over $1K!! I have onlybeen with them less than two months. SCAMMERS. DO NOT USE THEM.

 NEVER recommend to anyone! I was told this company would offer good pricing and was reliable. THAT is the ultimate JOKE! I used them for a total of 5 months only. The last bill was outrageous and when questioned they were unable to assist. They even had customer contact their electrical provider instead of them handling the situation. The meter readings did not match up in the least from previous months. I was given at least 3 different ticket numbers, spoke to managers and was given false promises of matter to be handled. They never returned calls and of course did not change ONE penny of the original bill which is a FRUAD. I would never recommend them to anyone stay away from this company and their terrrible customer service.

They lie to you about charges, fees, etc, just look at the 1 star reviews on this site over 72%, that is huge. Please do your research before switching, You have three federal days to do it in. I Was Misinformed/Lied To by Just Energy Door to Door Salesman

 Just Energy Energy Adviser (saleman) comes to my door, and long story short, asks to see my Electric bill from old provider and tells me,

"See this 4.1 cents per KWH, this is what your paying just for electricity. Now look down here. See this 10.6 cents per KWH? This is what you're actually paying for electricity after the delivery fees and all other fees and charges, and taxes are added in. 10.6 cents is what you're actually paying for electricity in total. With Just Energy that amount is 9.5 cents."

This was the lie (either intentional or not). 9.5 cents is what I paid for electricity and delivery bundled together BUT on one of my bills the overall charge for electricity was 13.5 cents per KWH.

The sales guy was either not trained correctly and didn't know what he was talking about or he straight up lied to me. In either case I feel I was scammed.

I quit Just Energy after 3 months and when I got my last bill they add $150 to it for reimbursement of the $150 they gave me in Billing Credit to compensate me for the $150 Early Cancellation fee my last provider had charged me.

When I called and explained the story above and asked that they waive that reimbursement repayment, I was told that I agreed to the contract on the phone (J E guy called in the the order and then put me on the phone to agree to the terms). Being that the J E guy was comparing my old total charge of 10.6 cents to their 9.5 cents I obviously assumed that that 9.5 cents per KWH was what I was going to pay in total and agreed to the terms on the phone. And when they read you the terms it's like one of those overly wordy agreement statements you're suppose to read (but nobody ever does) before clicking the box agreeing to the terms of whatever it is your signing for.

I FEEL LIKE I WAS TOTALLY SCAMMED

I said i didn't want to renew my contract on June 30, how could that mean i still wanted electricity! additionally i never answered any of their subsequent emails and phone calls about renewing the contract. When i got my bill for July, when i wasn't living at the address, i called in and asked them to withdraw the bill and they said the could not unless i proved to them that i called in and cancelled. how am i supposed to do that months later?? a ridiculous waste of my time. i will not be using them again in the future!

Thoroughly Misinformed

 I was actually trying to reach Reliant energy when I was searching for an energy company to use when I moved into my apartment but somehow the number I called routed me to Just Energy. The gentleman I talked was very polite and positive as we discussed how Just Energy was actually better on price because they do not use a pass through charge like everyone else does and that there was no contract cancellation fees like everyone etc.. etc...
So I complied with signing up with Just Energy, moved into my apartment and have never had a problem with my energy, until my bill came. I have a 644 sqft apartment that I am at barley 4 hours a day minus 8 hours of sleep (but everything is as it is as if I'm gone when I am asleep). Long story short, the only thing running during the day is my AC set at 80 and my refrigerator. Now here comes the downfall, with just my fridge and ac running, and 3 hours of tv a day apparently I'm using 758kwh at .095 cents, no way, so I check my bill, well on my bill I have a PASS THROUGH charge which I was told they do not do, first lie, secondly I'm thinking to my self theres no way and I'm just gonna change companies since there is no cancellation fee, wrong, second lie, $75 dollars to cancel.
In conclusion, I think Just Energy may be a large company but there core basis of business is designed like a car dealership where as it uses flashy shiny phrases to lure you in and then lie and steal your money like a bunch of crooks. Would not recommend.

I've been charged TWICE with Just Energy

 My bill was 95$ I paid them, then went to check my bank acc next day because I wasn't able to use my card, it was a very low balance mind you I put 200$ in it before I paid Just Energy. My husband got a bank statement & they charged us 90$ TWICE. Our acc has been under investigation I called today & they're saying one payment was received & the other was declined. HOW?? Like WHERE did the other 90$ go? WHY does my bank statement say just energy charged me twice. And we STILL subosedly owe them 57$!!!! This isn't the first problem we've had with them, I do not recommend this company to anybody.

 I've been with Just Energy a little over a year. Not once have I had a good customer service experience. Workers speak as if they are in a rush to get off the phone with you and don't take time to explain answers. One example is when I was renewing my contract. I spoke with an individual who was extremely hurried to get me off the phone and failed to answer most of my questions about billing/rates. Their rates are not terrible, but I won't continue to give my money to a company where workers don't feel the need to be polite when answering calls.

 Since signing up with Just Energy originally I was told I would get the same rate as I was getting with Spark Energy once the initial setup was complete plus I wouldn't pay an admin fee each month either if I signed up for a 5 yr contract. Never saw the reduction in my per KWH and still pay approximately .03 - .04 per KWH more then the average plus the admin fee. Absolutely ridiculous.

Then found out I'm 12 months into a 5 year contract paying a whooping 11.5 cents per KWH. They've got to be crazy, I don't sign up for car notes for 5 years let alone electricity for an apartment I'll be out of after this next 12 month lease. I use a little over 1,000 KWH and the going plans are much cheaper and have a 12 month contract. Somehow I was scammed and I'll be breaking this contract ASAP!!11

I spoke to one of their managers and told her I had the confirmation numbers where they had waived the fee, since service is not available where I moved to and light was not going to be in my name. I called her back to give her confirmation and name of people I spoke to. I called her countless times but she was never available, I left messages but she never returned calls.. Now I keep getting calls from a debt collector trying to collect $600.00. DO NOT SIGN WITH THIS COMPANY. I am on a fixed income and am not able to pay this outrageous bill. It's not like I canceled for no reason.. I had told the sales person that I would be moving and he told me , they would waive the disconnection fee. Total misrepresentation

could provide a temporary power source for the new home I am building. The initial setup costs quoted (over the phone) seemed quite reasonable. And then I received my fist bill, almost $200 more than I
had been led to expect (for minimum electricity used). My suggestion to others who have been ripped off
is this: Contact the State of Texas Board that regulates electricity providers in Texas AND FILE a FORMAL COMPLAINT against Just Energy, and send a copy to your Texas State Representative and
Texas State Senator in Austin !!!!!!!!!!

WHENEVER WE WOULD CALL THEY WERE RUDE AND ALWAYS OFFERED AND EXCUSE. UPON RECEIVING A BILL FOR 130.00 WE STARTED LOOKING INTO OUR FEES AND WE WERE PAYING 30.00 DOLLARS IN BOGUS FEES THAT WE WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF. THEY EVEN CHARGED US 5.00 FOR A MANUAL PAYMENT WHEN ALL OF OUR BILLS WERE PAID ONLINE. WHEN WE SPOKE TO A REPRESENTATIVE REGARDING HOW HIGH OUR BILL IS CONSIDERING WE HAVE NO ELECTRIC APPLIANCES EXCEPT FOR OUR FRIDGE, NO WASHER NOR DYER, ARE NEVER HOME TILL AFTER 5. NO KIDS AND ONE WINDOW UNIT SET AT 75 DEGREES. THE REPRESENTATIVE WAS NICE ENOUGH TO TELL ME THAT IF I WANT A LOWER BILL " TO USE LESS ENERGY, AND IF I WANTED TO CANCEL MY CONTRACT MY DISCONNECTION FEE WOULD BE 170.00"

Glad I forgot to cancel! Saved me money!

 A just energy sales men came to my door explaining to me that my rate was eligible to go down and that I was paying a separate delivery charge to centerpoint. So when I realized reliant was charging me 18 cents I automatically was down to switch...then I went online and looked at the reviews and almost shitted on myself. I was so scared I had been ripped off and scammed. Anyway I planned to cancel but ended up forgetting and got my first bill a little over a month later and man was I surprised! I saved almost $100!!! What I will say is the rep was very honest with me. She told me that there were cancellation fees but IF I call the 1888 number on the top of my contract they would be waived. You have to call for them to be waived. I've been having them for 6 months now and as a previous loyal reliant customer I must say I don't regret switching. I've also heard they have a new program

 I am so very disappointment and embarrassed I was tricked into signing up with y'all for my electric service. The man whom I spoke with told me everything I wanted to hear. I wrote down two pages in my notebook of things he was saying and my dad was listening right next to me. And it seems to be now that everything I circled and starred - isn't the truth. The man on the phone SOLD me into using y'all for two reasons - no cancellation fee because I was not sure how long I would need an electric company, as I am getting married and we were not sure of the future living situation and second because even though the fixed rate was higher than most, it would never change and end up being cheaper than the other companies. Wow was I wrong - I am now aware he signed me up under a FIVE year contract. Five. I would never in a million years have agreed to that had I known. As I stated before, the reason I was so attracted to y'all is because it was going to be an easy out if needed because of my uncertain future living situation. And now I find out I have to pay almost $400 to get OUT of the contract that I wasn't aware I was in. $400? Really? Why would I sign up for something if I was going to have to pay that hefty of an exit fee. Yes, it's a hot month but I am the most frugal person on the planet with electricity. It's off during the day and nothing is on or plugged in unless needed. And it was $50 for two weeks. Two weeks - that is outrageous. I am sad I was tricked into falling for this company for all the wrong reasons. I will be leaving as soon as I can save up enough money to cancel. I'm sad this is how you get customers. And for a "customer is our number one propriety" type business you really should be 100% sure that you are being straight forward and honest before they end up in a 5 year unwanted contract.

This company does not make notations

 From the very beginning when I signed up with Just Energy, big mistake, I told them that I could only pay my bill on or before the 3rd of the following month. This is due to my disability income that I receive. I have been told each time that supposedly notes are made to this effect. THEY ARE NOT!! I have names who I talk to saying that this is ok and I would not receive a disconnection notice or charged a fee of $5.00. Well. guess what, I am getting the notices and the fees. It just goes to show that companies such as this, can do anything they want to customers. There is nobody that will help of fight for the customer. If I switch to another company, they threaten me that they will charge me 75.00 per MONTH for the 4 years remaining on my contract. If anyone can advise me about this let me know. I will check back later for response.

 This Company should be SHUT DOWN, total scam, I had a $350.00 TXU bill, that the salesman looked at and compared to Just Energy, he told me from looking at my bill...... that by switching to Just Energy I would NOT be paying more than $200.00 a month, guaranteed!!!! So I was so excited and he had me TOTALLY convinced. HOWEVER, I got my first bill, and WHAM, it was a whopping $550.00!!!!!! I almost fainted, there HAD to be some sort of mistake, when I called, they told me no mistake, that was my bill according to my Kilowatt usuage. But the salesman NEVER mentioned that. But of course. SO, I immediately switched back to TXU. They are charging me over $1000.00 because I switched back! And I told them BECAUSE you sat there and LIED to me, Lied!!! False advertisement, bad training, I don't care, they LIED. DO NOT SWITCH TO JUST ENERGY!!!!!!!!!!!! Save yourself from the hell it caused my family!!!!!

Introduction rate is reasonable. Was told that indexed price was very similar to introduction rate. With gas and oil price dropping, I believed that my bills would actually go down.
To get an idea of actual rates per month, take their promo rate and multiply by 1.5.
One of the most expensive rates per KW. While some plans offer 8.8 cents per KWatts, I am paying over 12.5 even during this period where oil barrel is less than 50 USD. A real ripp off

One week, five reps, two waiting on hold she responded instead of "RIGO" who promised that he would get bacK to me and email me a summary of the steps rhat he promised. NANCY LIED Repeatedly. she said that she couldnt email anything anymore although RIGO could as well as her subordinate vvictorian@justenergy.com who asked for a copy of the email i received vvictoria sent me to Nancy's "supervisor" to resolve this. I later found out not only is he not her supervisor but isnt even in her department.

 The initial sales call was great. The salesperson was very pleasant. All part of the scheme I suppose, because she forgot to mention that while your energy charge is low, the other charges will be ridiculously higher despite how much energy you use. However, she was sure to record everything that she did mention that sounded like a great plan for any small business. I received a bill for $230 before I even moved into the space. Just received the 2nd bill. The charges that they said would only appear in my 1st month's bill are now called something else on my second bill. Called about that and they had this story about power spikes and that's what causes it. Well I haven't really plugged anything up yet because I'm still getting situated. I can't imagine how much the bill will be when I am really up and running.

Before signing a Just Energy contract, do your research

 A Just Energy representative came to my door telling me their company offers a better rate than my local energy supplier. I signed a month to month contract. My bill was lowered, but only for the first month with Just Energy. After the first month, my energy rate more than doubled. Luckily, I was able to cancel my month to month contract without having to pay a penalty fee. When I signed up, they said there would be no penalty fee for cancelling. I think this company spams people into thinking they will save money on their gas/electric bill. This is NOT the case. (At least in my personal situation) My suggestion is DO NOT sign a contract with Just Energy until you do research. Call your current supplier and compare rates. Even if Just Energy says they offer a better rate, you still need to be hesitant. It may only last for one billing cycle and then you get your next bill which you find has increased significantly. I was paying more than double what I would have had to pay with my local supplier. I had to learn the hard way, but thankfully I was able to cancel my contract. Do your homework before signing, not after signing. I hope this helps someone else not to make the same mistake I made. Other reviews have helped me during this process.

I had to call them every month for at least 4 months when I started with them when I received my bill. They had charges on there for every little thing that I was never told about. Some of the customer service people were helpful, but when I got my next bill it was something else. Very stressful company, I cant wait to get out.

My rate is .0660 alright but the fees assessed on the bill are triple the amount of energy used. The salesman also stated there was no contract which I thought was a great idea. After signing up, being dissatisfied I called and low and behold a 5 year contract. That seems a little excessive so I asked about termination fee the guy told 1400.00 to cancel early . This company if you can call them that should be just down they are a total scam.

BAIT & SWITCH, LIES AND BROKEN PROMISES

 Total BAIT & SWITCH SCAM. I contacted Just Energy because they are listed as an energy provider on the Pflugerville official website. The sales representative PROMISED that with a one year contract I would be locked in at a rate of 8.5 c./Kwh for 12 months. The very next bill the rate jumped 37.6% to 11.706 c./Kwh. I called their customer service to find out what was going on. I was told they would have to investigate and would contact me in 72 hours. They didn't and I forgot about it because I have a busy life and don't really have the time to be on the phone with an electric company. All I want is for the company to deliver what they promise and I pay for. The next bill comes and there was yet another increase to 12.6 c./Kwh. This time I'd had enough, I called again and got the same BS answer. I waited 3 days and of course did not get a call back. So I called them, this time I would not deal with anyone but a supervisor. After nearly an hour of not taking no for an answer a supervisor PROMISED me they would adjust my bills for the 2 months I was overcharged, I also recorded the phone conversation. At this point I'd had enough and found a different electric provider with a rate of 8.9. I then filed a complaint with the Texas Public Utility Commission. That got a response from Just Energy from their "Resolutions" department. I went through the same hoops with this guy as I had the customer service supervisor. I was PROMISED they would adjust my final bill and not charge me a fee for ending the contract. I got my final bill yesterday. Do you think they kept any of their promises. NOPE THEY DID NOT.

THIS COMPANY IS NOTHING BUT BAIT & SWITCH, LIES AND BROKEN PROMISES.

 So i was also suckered into signing up with just energy...Man came to my door step talking a good deal thi that and the other and i signed up and so far i havent seen my bill lower then 250! Now if i cancel early i will have to pay 500 dollars plus what ever the last bill is that i owe. I cant afford a 250-375 dollar bill every month. So they advertise on their website your rate plan signing up could be as low as 8.7 so i asked about that and she goes thats only for the first month! What! i should have stayed with txu atleast my bill never exceed over 200 dollars. This place is ridiculous and i strongly recommend you stay far far away from it. Never trust a man that comes to your door step and trust his word. Always always always do your research before you commit to something. Wish i did.

 They are dishonest. We signed up for their services by calling Just Energy number. No indications that it is third party. Conditions were negotiated over the phone. Promised rate was 11cents per kW and plan was to be fixed, not variable. My bill was close to $500 (previous bill with another company was $300). The rate on the bill showed 13 cents per kW and variable plan. Customer service talks over you and explains that you've talked to the third party and they are mot responsible for the errors or omissions. I switched immediatelyto my previous energy provider. Just Energy is a real, certifiable scam! Be warned!

 As all other posters stated, they come to your house telling you how much money you will be saving and that your rate will go down. I am interested, but kind of taken a back that 100% wind energy would possibly be cheaper. Anyways I start the contract by talking on the phone to a customer service rep who talks so fast and as im listening I realize all these things hes saying are not at all what the rep told me. SO as soon as i heard him say 5 YEAR CONTRACT i said screw this and GOODBYE. I did not complete that scam. 5 years really??? who knows what will happen in 5 years that is outrageous. AVOID THESE SCAMMERS.

Also, the rep kept asking me for ice water. How about get off my property. How rude...

The people who answer the phones are rude as hell, they jacked up my bill $100 even though I used less electricity, and they could give no explanation as to why, just pay it. I will, I canceled and I'll send my payment in pennies. I've been with a few different providers but this company is a complete scam. I signed up for 10.9 kwph and ended up being charged over 16. I've never had a light bill over $ 200 in 4 years in my home. My first bill was for 5 days, $50. My next bill was $280 using 2400 kwph, then this month it's $320 for 200 kwph LESS than the lat month. Now I have to pay a 175 early termination fee to get away from these crooks. Unbelievable the state allows to them to keep running this scam. Sickenin. SERIOUSLY STAY AWAY! SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!

I at first thought I could understand the high electric bills in the winter because I was using three small electric space heaters, along with one gas space heater to heat my house. However, when the cold weather left, and the only electricity even flowing through my house was refrigerator, two computers (not all the time), and one t.v. part of the time, I could not understand why my bill was still almost $300. After losing my job, then losing my unemployment benefits, I called them to try to negotiate the now $500 bill I had accrued, and was told, no problem, we'll set up a payment plan; pay $120 now and $60 on each bill for the next five months! First bill I got was $300, and the energy charge was only$65; all the rest was BS fees!!! Then I get a disconnection notice, so I called again. The electronic menu said my bill was now over $700, and when I got this little smart aleck girl with an accent on the line, she said it was $800, and that they cannot grant an extensive because I defaulted on the payment agreement!! When I asked how it went from $500 to $700 to $800 in a matter of minutes, she hung up on me. Now they want the entire $800, which I do not have, and don't know of many people who do, and I can't get any other electric service because they have put some kind of hold on me!!! ILLEGAL AS HELL!!! Just waiting for the power to be shut off at any time now, and then I don't know what I'll do.

DO NOT CHOOSE JUST ENERGY!!!

 I had recently just moved into a house so my husband was the one who called to transfer our service. They hid a $149 fee from him because he wanted a locked price. Also I was waiting on my bill to arrive, a month and a half letter I get the ONLY mail I've ever received from them stating they will disconnect our service cuz we didn't pay last month. How am I supposed to pay when I have no acct # I never even received an email. And not only that they said I was able to do split payments and if I pay before the disconnection date I will be fine. Paid it on Saturday and thought everything was good. I wake up this morning and my power is disconnected. I call them asking why mind you I was on hold for a very long time and then I explain my situation and she says after I had paid the 1st half over the phone I was supposed to call back. The 2 ladies I spoke with while paying my 1st half never stated that I had to call back they just told me to pay the amount given. She kept going on and on I should've called back. Are you serious? I asked to speak to a manager and I'm put on hold again. And then they decided to accept it this one time. This company charges you with hidden fees. Ever since I've signed up with them its been nothing but stress and bullshit. If I could rate them any lower I would.

 We had a nice guy come by the house to promote just energy, and some how ended up being in a contract. He said it was just an estimate to see if my bill would go down. I'm mailing in the cancellation form tomorrow! He never said I was switching my energy provider! They are way more expensive than my current company. 14.1 cents/kwh is ridiculous! I don't care if its better for the planet, I can't afford that kind of rate! Just energy should instruct their sales people to really make sure their customers understand they are selling contracts...I'm so upset! There better not be any complications with my cancellation form. I don't want to switch!

 I've been with just energy for about a year now after moving in with my sister. I pay the electricity but had no say in which company we went with seeing as she moved in before I did, and boy I wish I had had a say. She chose the "prepaid" account and it is just miserable. I'm literally paying $30 every 5 days and that's if we use barely any lights. Also when you call to pay they say you can avoid a fee or whatever and that is a lie! I just found out today that no matter how you pay there is a fee every single time you pay! What??! I'm so done with this company and will not recommend to ANYONE!!!!

They are liars, they lie to you about rates and plans just to get you to use them and then you end up paying way too much. 200 for the first 2 weeks in my apt and I literally have barely turned on any lights or used anything, I'm not even home most of the time. To top that off they charge a $55 late fee every time we pay late. An when I call in to customer service i have to wait 30 minutes to talk to someone. Best light company i have been with in the past is STREAM ENERGY. If my husband hadn't took it upon himself go with this company i would have went back to Stream Energy.

Don't get the SmartStat Thermostat!

 Contract ran out in January, and my bill more than doubled, even though I used less electricity in February. I decided to look around for another company. I had a SmartStat thermostat with them so I called to see what would happen if I switched. Would there be any charges? Would it still work. I was told there would be no charges and it will still work just fine. So I found a good rate and made the switch only to be confronted with a $500 bill the next month! I called and was told it was the charge for the SmartStat thermostat I had with them. I called BS, and they told me that I should have known about the charge! So bottom line, I didn't have to pay a termination fee, but I can either pay the $209 for the thermostat, or I can pay $195 for them to come remove it! Bunch of crooks!

They even charged me for a six month old bill that was suspiciously added to a current one. CONSUMERS BEWARE!!!!!

 Just Energy is the most scandalous company I've ever dealt with. They pull up to our development with a van full of "representatives" and swarm the area, taking advantage of anyone they can. The man that came to our home scammed his way through through selling a 60 MONTH contract with rates higher than I've seen nearly anywhere under the guise that it was "such a great deal". He showed, on his phone, copies of other residents' bills to compare and demonstrate their "savings" while upselling their "green units" as a discountnot the additional fee it actually is! Buyers make sure to read every last detail on your agreements and know enough to do your homework. Their early termination fees are triple most places. They offer a less than 8 cent promotional rate online yet sell door to door residents on a 12.4 cent rate. The representative that came to our house left a fake number with us so we got screwed out of the three day grace period to cancel after trying to reach this guy to get some questions answered. HE was all smooth talk during the sell and coached to call to corporate to sign up. When I had the time, ( it took days of calls and waiting to the ONE number they provide for assistance ) and was finally able to reach their cancellation department, the woman told me if they hear a call being coached, they refuse the sign up. All I was offered was too bad lady, you signed the contract. It's pathetic these people come door to door in the evening, when people are worn out from a hard days work, tell you they're selling you one thing when the fine print says another. This man talked over the phone call the entire time so there was no way of knowing what you've really gotten yourself into until after the fact. This company is about one thing, SCREWING YOU OUT OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. If you want out, you've got to pay not only your monthly bill, but a disconnect fee in addition to $75 PER MONTH left on your contract With 59 months left on ours, that's a whole lot of money. I hope enough people will stand up against these unscrupulous tactics and get these money mongers shut down.

Horrible customer service, by far the worst company, billing incorrectly

 I signed up for services with Just energy but within the 3 business days that the law gives i cancelled and stayed with my previous provider. Just energy started charging from the day i signed up, even when my electricity hadnt even switched yet, and i know that because my provider at the time called me and asked me to stayed with them, and that they hadnt doen the switch yet. Well, for "3 days of service" with just eenergy, they were charging me $100. i called and they said they were not gonna debit my account and they will erase my bank info so that payment doesnt get processed just in case. Well, needless to say, my bank was deducted that amount. i called customer service several times and after 3 weeks of me calling and calling i saw my refund. however, the customer reps were rude, and because their mistake and postponing my credit to my bank account, i overdrawn my bank account. i have called customer service and ask to speak with a supervisor, and they are never available. they say they would call back, and they never do. i emailed customer service, and same thing, no response whatsoever.
it has been the worst experience. First, they charged for something that i didnt even used, then they say they will credit and will not deduct my bank and they do, and then they take forever to refund my money, and thats because i had to be calling and calling, putting up with rude people. i am just glad i didnt stayed with them, but it has costed me a lot of money just in overdraft fees because of that transaction and nvere getting my money back on time.

Terrible Company

 This company is by far the worst company i have ever had to deal with. When i first set up my electricity with them they came out when they were suppose to. Although two months had gone by with using their service and i had received my first bill. On that first bill was a charge for the "actual" first month and a late fee for not paying it, tacked on to the second months bill. After arguing with customer service for over an hour, nothing was resolved i still had to pay the late charge and two electric bills at once. I was using a month to month basis so i could cancel at any time. At the time i canceled i would still have one more bill coming, and i specifically gave the customer service representative my forwarding address. Months passed, years past and today i received a call from a collections agency saying i never paid my outstanding electric bill. Called Just energy's customer service once again and they confirmed to have my forwarding address but to have no record of the FINAL bill ever being sent there. Its companies like this that should go under. It is there responsibility to send their notifications not the clients. I do not suggest ever using this company EVER.

 I was told there was an activation fee of 100 dollars when I went to sign up for Just Energy's electricity. So when I declined they told me they would send me a 100 dollar gift card if I signed up today. So when I accepted they told me they would be sending it in the mail within 6 - 8 weeks. I thought..Cool I can just use that towards another bill. Apparently you have to send in your first bill within a month of activation and put an address on there as to where to send the gift card to. WHAT?! Just send it to the address on file? Isn't that HOME?! So them failing to tell me that resulted in me having to pay 100 extra dollars for absolutely nothing. I ended up having to move to another state and they told me I wouldn't be able to get my gift card anyways because I cancelled my services with them almost immediately after activating with them. I told them I would write a review online about how poor the communication and lack of effort on their end was in resolving any sort of issue. Not to mention the hold time was always 15+ minutes. NEVER again will I be using this company. They will be lucky to even get me to pay the final bill.

Promising and good rate and then having another one on the contract they have you sign. SO BUYER BEWARE, Just Energy is nothing but a COARTIST! That $.5.99 cap, is not a cap, it is added to your monthly usages, so in my case I pay by the MCF. SO the monthly rate based on the exchange plus the 5.99 is the really almost double the rate.

If You hear the word Just energy run AWAY.

Horrible Stay Away

 Well where to start first just energy shut off my dads power to his business and his home! The bill had been payed on time and everything in fact just energy even admitted it was their fault! Today is the second day he still hasnt had power its winter my dad is 80 yrs old handicapped and in very bad health. Just energy swears they put a rush on it to be turnd back on but like i said its the second day and still nothing! Also my dads business is boat n rv storage so we also have 72 people who cant get to their storage facuilities because of this! You would think they would move faster since this was their fault and they admitt that too!

 I had no problems with just energy. I think the key to this is to pay your bill on time. My reason for switching was due to price. I am of the opinion that no electrical provider has better electricity than the other, therefore my biggest concerns are pricing and service. A lot of problems can be alleviated by reading your EFL and asking questions about things that you do not understand. During my contract I found their reps. to be courteous and friendly.

 I hate hate hate hate this company!!!! I hate calling to pay my bill but since i got these dang a$$holes i can not log on online! I've reset my password HUNDREDS(obviously an exaggeration but a necessary one) of times and i call all the time and there is always just some excuse as to why it will not work. I hate paper bills as well and i guess telling them to stop sending those is virtually impossible.

I called the customer service; bad customer service; telling me they can't do nothing about it as it was setup by a 3rd party and I am stuck with them for 12 months. Can't wait till this contract is over. Please do not sign up with them. I saw some bad reviews before I signed up; I thought some people just always complain.... and I thought I would get lucky.... but trust me... don't take chance... you will net get lucky with JUST Energy... they should be called... JUST LIARS...

Disorganized Incompetence

 In today's day and age, they seem oblivious to technology, and every single person there is trapped in a box sized to house an M&M.

When you sign up for e-bill, you, do, in fact get a bill by email. You can do NOTHING with it, but you DO get the bill by email. There is NO link by which to pay your bill or schedule your bill. This, of course, would NOT matter, because when you DO go to their website to pay, or schedule, your bill, you CANNOT. Their "Wal Mart" 3rd party billing company does NOT receive the data to populate the bill until some 2-3 days AFTER you receive your notification. THEN, once you continue to check back for 2-3 days and are actually able to access your bill and schedule the payment, you must re-enter your payment information EVERY, SINGLE time.

For over a year I addressed these issues with them. "Add a link to the bill pay site in your email bill notification." We can't. "Delay the sending of the email bill notifications until AFTER the data has had time to populate your third party billing company's database." We can't. "At least retain my info so paying my bill is a simple click of the mouse?" We can't.

These may seem petty, but they are petty BOTH ways. Simple fixes to make the customer experience more pleasurable AND their cash flow more flowing. They CAN'T.

Nope....they WON'T.

HE GONE!

INCOMPETENCE.

 I switched to just energy from TXU when a door to door sales rep came to my door and explained how my price will not change for the next 5yrs and that it would be one charge only!!! When I got my bill it was exactly that! I'm too busy to be worried about what company to switch to and with this company I don't have to worry about it at all. LOVE IT!

 well like every body just now and then you get a phone call save on electricity buying this thermostat is a scam dont fall for it i went and check my previous months to see how much i was saving surprise i compare 10 months without the termostat and i came out with 150 dlls more than last year what a coincidence im being charged 15 dlls a month so my charges to cancel guess what another 120dlls on top of that with option to buy it for 250 dlls where they sell for 170 on the internet please i paid the price dont do it please tell your friends

 Just Energy LIE and is a FRAUD..
I have a rental property in Houston, TX that was listed for Rental and wanted to setup temp electricity for the property. I search around; did a price comparison in Houston, Tx and found Just Energy to be the lowest. They advertised a rate of $0.04/km cents for 3 months. Talked to the sales rep; he back and left a voice message confirming that my rate $0.04/km but when the bill came out, it was $0.08/km. I called Customer Services and they give me the run around. I told them that I have a voice message with proof of my rate but they flat out denial it as said they Never Advertised that rate

Just Energy is very quick to cut off your electricity. On my conversations with the Sales Rep, I told them its a rental property and to send the bill to my home but they never sent the bill there. My services was disconnected and they charge me a late fee. Frustrated, I just wanted them out; I paid-off the bill only to find out that there is another bill. For a VACANT property with 2 month of Services; I was charged $262.79(all penalties and fees were removed, after my repeated phone calls to Just Energy). I paid it off thinking it was the last time Ill hear from them; NOPE, I was Wrong. They sent me another bill for $82.86 saying that even though the services was disconnected there is still a final bill that I needed to pay. I wasnt told this when I was on the multiple phone conversations with Just Energy Rep(s). This Electric company is a Fraud and they are out to rip you off. Do yourself a favor and avoid them..

 please be aware ---I just nearly got scammed into signing with these people by a door to door rep who flat out misrepresented himself. His story was that they were sent to check on the residents of my apt complex to be sure that we had not been 'unlawfully hit with the 2% rate increase' and that I should have received a notice via mail that they were coming to do that...he then asked to see my electric bill, I noticed he was with Just Energy who I had never heard of before and told him I was with Gexa Energy and asked why he (Just Energy) would need to see that, he then said they were sent by the state. I was skeptical but got a copy of my bill anyway- he started 'educating me on my electric bill and what I was being charged for, got my name and address, no harm there, then my phone #, then tells me he is going to call it in right now and get it fixed, and that they would call me right then and need to get my information including social security # but that I could go in the house and talk with them because he didn't need to hear my sensitive information. I went in and called my apt mgr instead and she came and informed him that we were contracted through another provider and if he wanted to solicit her residents he would need to follow the proper channels and speak with the property manger. I could have unwittingly signed because he played it off like he was cooperating with the state and my energy company to fix 'a problem with my bill'. After reading the reviews I can see why thier salesman have to resort to such tricks to gain a customer, he was not telling me to switch providers, he must be pretty slick or people are not so smart, I saw his list of residents who had apparently signed.

 Just Energy used to be "US Energy" but they changed their name due to the bad name they earned in the market place from lawsuits and complaints to the Public Utilities Commission and various state attorney generals. They have an option to pay 1/2 of your bill and then pay the balance in 10 days. I phoned in and set that up only to have my electricity cut on 2 days later. I phoned in and they said they were having communication problems between the collection department and the billing department and it was an error and they would turn back on the electricity....it took them over 48 hours to get it back on during which time my food spoiled. I issued a complaint to the PUC and to show their lack of integrity Just Energy lied to the PUC saying I had not made an arrangement on my past due bill. They have no class but they are a CANADIAN company so there you go. I sued them and got the money for the spoilage. I'd stay away from them if I were you....no trust there with them.

 It is crazy there website is the sorriest I have ever dealt with. I set up auto pay and it went through for a few months then something happened and they were unable to charge my account. I was charged a late fee instead of being notified that the payment did not go through so that I can pay it. I went to the website to pay and the website would not allow me to pay. I went to set up auto pay and nothing. I went to one time pay and nothing. I called there customer service and realized why they rather you be late they charge you $4.95 to process your account. I am well if you website worked I would not be calling you but it doesn't. I went through this 2 months trying to set up auto pay and just got feed up that I just decided to just switch electric providers. I can't update my own payment method. I have to pay each month. That is fine but when you have so much to do and live alone I can't be managing every single payment that goes out.

 I have had electricity with Reliant and Direct Energy - and been happy with them. They upped their rates, so I shopped around. But, last year I was offered a rate that was very low with Just Energy. They have threated me with disconnection the very next day after a bill is due. I have never seen such quick threats to disconnect in 20+ years of electric companies. Bad way to treat your customers. And Just Energy is very quick to cut off your electricity. I found out the hard way. So quick in fact that it border lines on illegal. They sent notice for a bill due on the 16th via email. I have been busy and didn't check it for a few days. Then I was sent a envelope in the mail...not another email or a call. No that would be too nice and friendly of them. This notice I received it in my mail on the 22nd. Unfortunately, I simply forgot to get to my mail and didn't realize it was a disconnection notice and not a reminder. Just Energy cut my electricity off on the 30th - that is just 8 days after the notice came in the mail. No calls, no messages, no additional notice. I paid by phone and it was back on shortly, I was glad for that. I have had homes and electric bills since 1995 not a single company was so quick to cut my electricity off. I was shocked. I called to find out how I could prevent this in the future. They said automatic billing. Fun. Please, if you like to keep the food in your frig cool, do not sign up with them. I beg you...do not. In the state of Texas there is a window of 10 days notice before cutting off you electricity. The notice got to my house on the 22nd and no lights on the 30th. But, since the bill was due on the 16th and the notice mailed on the 19th they claim that they are within their rights. My question is who wants to be treated by their electric company this way? I don't. And do you really want to risk coming home to no lights for missing a payment by a few days? I think not.

 My husband went to pay our bill on thursday. On friday our lights were off. I called customer service with my conformaiton number only to be told that it can take up to 3-4 business days for my lights to be turned on. The customer service rep tells me it is becuase my husband didnt pay at ACE CHECK CASHING! Yet when i called to find out where i could pay the bill at since my credit card was stolen the customer service rep just said any check cashing place. So my husband went to the closest one ot our home. Friday was my sons 18th birthday party at our house that we couldnt have becasue they turned our services off. We even talked to a manager who also informed us that they can NOT turn them back on til 3-4 business days for the payment to process. WTH!! I am switiching services ASAP!! They were rude and very unhelpful. Even with the people from the Check Cashing telling them the payment was paid and proceseed they would NOT listen NOR help us. THANK YOU JUST ENERGY FOR SCREWING UP MY SONS 18TH BIRTHDAY!!!

The first month i Received my bill from my previous address...i paid it in full. Then i Received a disconnection notice for my new address. When i called i was told that no billing arrangements had been set up??? How do you provide service & not send a bill? So i paid the bill and their Rediculous charges. Now I'm facing another sky-high bill and another disconnection, along with a threatening bill for collections stating that i owe $ from my previous address. Nothing about this company is honest, and they dont give a shit whether you struggle, they are in the game the Deceive people and steal $$. I will not be paying this obsurd bill this time they can shove it. I am lodging complaints with anyone who will listen. These are not fair or honest business practices.

 I believe that Just Energy and their promotion company conspired to mis-apply my payments and therefore DID NOT SEND THE TWO (2) $75 VISA REWARD CARDS which I should have received. Briefly this is what occurred: (1st) The Just Energy promotion company opened an account prematurely, July 5, 2012, while I was under contract with TXU although I clearly informed him that I was calling to get information on Just Energy's various plans. Two days after he opened the account I became aware of the situation and immediately cancelled the Just Energy account and paid in full for those two days of service while I was under contract with TXU. After my contract ended with TXU, I opened a Just Energy account,8-23-2012. During the first six (6) months. my payments were miss-applied three (3) times! The first payment was applied to the account that was erroneously opened when I was under contract with TXU. (2nd) A payment was processed exactly $20 less than the amount of the check. (3rd) Both of these situations resulted in penalties - however all penalties and fees were removed, after my repeated phone calls, because the mistakes were clearly made by Just Energy and not my mistakes. I made numerous phone calls in my efforts to receive the two $75 Visa Reward cards and followed the instructions provided by the Just Energy employees. The Visa cards were not sent to me. Next, I wrote letters, with supporting documentation, to the Just Energy payment processing office and corporate offices on two separate occasions - NEVER HAVE I HAD A REPLY, NOR HAVE I RECEIVED THE TWO VISA CARDS WHICH I CLEARLY EARNED BY TIMELY FOLLOWING THE GUIDELINES OF THEIR PROMOTION OFFER. KNOW THAT I ALWAYS PAY MY BILLS IN FULL AND PRIOR TO THE DUE DAY. JUST ENERGY CHEATED ME. ALL THE MISTAKES WERE MADE BY JUST ENERGY. THIS WAS CLEARLY ACKNOWLEDGED AS THEY REMOVED ALL PENALTIES. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!

Fraudelent or just plain stupid

 We had a Just Energy rep come to our front door and my husband ended up signing up with them. We got our first bill due date was 8/23/13 a little over $200.00 which is about the same as what we paid with the company prior. Then we got another bill due date of 8/26/2013 over $600.00. Contacted Just Energy to find out why we had 2 bills due 3 days apart. The rep stated that they had failed to send the first bill on time. I asked her so I'm supposed to pay a gigantic bill because you failed to do your job, she stated I had a 13 day grace period. Within that 13 day grace period I have switched back to the company I was with before and have filed a Complaint with the Public Utility Commission of Texas. I today, got my final bill almost $1300.00, I think I may conveniently forget to pay them.

 When I called to check their rates and programs I got a very good salesman and no matter how many times I told him I wanted to think about switching overnight he just would not take no for an answer. He finally said dont worry you have 3 days to change your mind before any of this takes effect. DO NOT BELIEVE that scam because that was June 12th and over two months later I am still trying to get everything straightened out and get my $114.43 back that they took out of my checking account. Technically they said I had an account with Just Energy less than 10 hours. Every time I call customer service all I hear is YES, I DO UNDERSTAND, yes and I see you have been calling, this process takes 7 to 10 business days, nothing happens you call back - well that takes another 3 to 7 business days, then we go back to yes I understand but this will take another 3 to 10 business days. We are talking about EFT it does not take 5 minutes to have funds electronic transferred thought the world much less in the US. Why dont they just confess to the public they do not have the funds to refund a persons money? PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THEM find another provider for electrical service.

 I was always very skeptical about choosing a supply company, and read a lot of bad reviews, but I still decided to give it a try. Now that I have been a Just Energy customer for well over 2 years I have to say it was the best decision I ever made for myself. Now that I understand how this program works and all of the terms, I'm able to see that a majority of these bad reviews are from people whom are confusing Just Energy for different supply programs. The terms are simple and easy to understand and my rep was very professional and polite. I did take advantage of the option to lock my gas and electric rates a few months back and now my energy cost are so much lower than the utility, and my cost won't change for the rest of my term. This company is so awesome and honest. I have recommended it to all of my friends and family. I really hope people get their facts straight before posting complaints about this company cause it is making them seem oh so silly.

Just energy is not coustom freindly

 When I first singed up with them there was no customer service office, all I go was a computer, now there is an office to talk to. I asked to be billed the first of every month because that is when I received my pay. they did not do that and when I asked about it they said they could not change my due date because the meter readers did not match they billing date and they could not change. Now the cost is going up from the beginning rate to 12 cents. Just as high as my local company that I can pay in person and ask questions face to face. I would not recommend Just Energy to anyone.

 We have been with Just Energy since February 2011. We got a rate of 8c per kwh for two years. We failed to note our anniversary date with them and the rate went up to 12c per kwh when contract date expired. We have been getting hugh bills this summer with the last one being $457. I was very pleased with customer service when I called and asked about payment as my husband and I are retired and living on a limited income. The lady I talked with was very helpful and said we could pay half by the due date and the other half 10 days later. We are looking for another provider since we cannot afford these large bills. We will look for a locked in rate and we will check out Just Energy rates.

 I signed with just energy for a cheaper bill according to them. Two months after signing with them my bill kept going up and up. Turns out they were charging much more than duke energy. My first bill was 20.00 more than normal. SO, I started using less electric and not cooking as much thinking that would help. Ha, silly me a month with less usage and no ac and my next bill was even more!!! These people are liars and will tell you anything to get your business. Don't end up like me, duke is a pain in the butt, but better than these liars! The government should be ashamed sending these people out. Some help that's supposed to ae.

They can't please everybody but needless to say they have A- with the better business bearau. I completely reccomend Just Energy because I don't have to keep renewing my contract every one or two years. They also have all inclusive rates no charge on supply and delivery on my contract. Get Just Energy.

Just energy company robs customers money without come to their house - Terrible business :((

 At first when i read people reviews, I did not believe those reviews at all. Then, I started to recheck my current and past bills. I got charged for something that it was not supposed to. I called them to find out why. One promised after another and guess what - my problem still did not get resolved. Every time i called I got the same answer - WILL CALL YOU BACK OR STILL INVESTIGATE - for the shake of this company - It was only 50 bucks.
This company business was tricking customers. They did not even meet the standard for "the ok business" and that was why they had no RATE on Better Business Bureau. I am sure with a kind of business they are running - targeting on tricking customers for a couple of bucks, in a very near future date they will go bankrupt because of NO customer.
The people who ran this company maybe they did not even have a degree because if they did they should know the very BASIC rule when running a business was CUSTOMER. If "CUSTOMERS ARE HAPPY YOU GET THE BUSINESS" - in this case as you could see their reviews - how many customers were happy :(
I was glad I refused the offers of those phone calls from their reps asking me to renew my contract - THANK GOD FOR HELPING ME MAKING THE BEST DECISION, TAKING ME AWAY FROM THOSE HEADACHES, STRESS... IF I WAS MAKING A WRONG DECISION TO STAY WITH JUST ENERGY I WOULD HAVE A HANDFUL OF THOSE.
I HAVE A BETTER THINGS TO DO THEN WAITING MY TIME TO DEAL WITH THE COMPANY LIKE THIS. THEY CAN HAVE MY $50 AND GOOD LUCK WITH THEIR BUSINESS.

He was a great saleman for the 5 year plan...sure sounded good, but my gut feeling was uneasy... so I check. A NIGHTMARE to say the least. RUN !!!!

 I don't even know where to begin. My bills are always incorrect for starters. The bill I received yesterday via email wasn't even mine, it was for a commercial account although it had my account number on it. I almost fell off my chair before I realized the mistake, almost 1000.00 for a small home. Several months ago I signed up for auto debit so I wouldn't get late notices HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I still received late notices, guess what folks?? Takes two months for JUST ENERGY to set you up for auto pay (which they don't tell you) so unless you are totally on top of everything you get a late notice with fees...took me an hour on HOLD before I finally spoke to a rep I could not understand well. To top it off, I started receiving PINK late notices on bills that had been paid for months ??? I can't even explain this to the rep because we can't communicate well enough for me to explain the mass confusion. TODAY I said to hell with this S*** I switched energy providers, I will FIGHT the cancellation fee although I know they will most likely win because they are so unprofessional and you finally give up !!! How in the heck do they even stay in business???? I have never been so upset with a utility company before... Unprofessional is such an understatement. Please don't use JUST ENERGY !!!!! You've been warned !

 Friday 5/.31/13 a guy came to our home and my 80 yr old husband was here and he convinced my husband to look at our gas/electric bill and had my husband sign a contract! for 5 freaking years!!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? the gas/electric billis in my name alone! My husband does not have authorization to sign anything for me...I RECEIEVED TWO E MAILS FROM JUST ENERGY WITH CONTRACT SIGNED BY MY HUSBAND..WITHIN FEW MINUTES OF HIM SIGNING IT......I HAVE 3 business days to cancel so I canceled within 1 hour!..I immediately contacted JUST ENERGY via phone and some guy assured me he canceled contract and gave me a confirmation number! I will check with them monday and if I do not get a e mail assuring me of cancellation, I will contact attorney general and my attorney! I also e mailed these ppl back too....what a scam! A friend of mine also had issues withthese ppl and her gas/electric billwas highest ever in all the years she had with the original utility! DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING!!!

And then my bills was good again until 3 weeks ago its 2013 now they claim they was billing me the wrong meter and now that want me to pay $400. For someone else mistake I will not pay for that if I been paying a bill on time for last 8 months in my new apartment. They was try to trick into thinking you did something wrong. Really!!!  They offer the lowest price for the first month, which is 0.08 for only first month and from second bill it is based on market price. But even for the first month it is a lie. They always sending the first bill for 4-5 days, since they are going to give you the bill from the second bill as higher price based on the market price.
they said this is because you order was at the middle of the cycle and it is out of our hand. We send you bill at the time that center point check your meter. But I don't believe it.
The other thing, you have to be careful with the customer service, they will tell you something and then again that charge will be appear at your next month bill. Again you have to call them to dispute. They will waive it but as a favor not this was their fault. This way some people will be tired and not calling them. Just imagine how much they can earn if they make such mistakes in their thousands customer bills.

 Just Energy is the worst electric company I have ever dealt with in my life. I have had electric service all over the country and from many different companies some with a monolopy and they could not compare to how bad JUST ENERGY is. I even had a nasty man call me saying he was from Just Energy but the phone number on my caller ID was from KOCH BROTHERS COMPANY. KOCH BROTHERS COMPANY was not happy that this guy was using their number somehow and I hope they got to the bottom of it when the lady told me they would do a complete investigation. I don't know how he did it but I do know Just Energy refuses to give a real phone number that you can call them at or an address where you can write to them. I also got screwed by not getting a $100 VISA card I was promised to sign on and so did my son who recommended Just Energy to me. STAY AWAY FROM JUST ENERGY. EVIL IS TOO NICE A WORD FOR THEM. THANK GOD MY CONTRACT IS UP!

 I had a sales rep come to my door and told me I could APPLY to see if we qualified for their services. I asked the person more than once if I really was just APPLYING and not actually signing up for anything and she told me yes. So here I am thinking I'm just going through the process to see if we would get "approved" all the while I'm actually being signed up. They tell you you have 3 days to decide whether you want the service or not. So I call to cancel right away. Of course it's a Saturday and their "canceling people" aren't there (how convenient). So I call back on Monday and cancel and am told everything is good. LITTLE DID I KNOW.. the moment I was "approved" my previous electric company got terminated. I now owe my previous company quite a bit of money for terminating, PLUS I will most likely owe Just Energy since apparently we have been using them for the past few days. And to top it all off, we may have to go without electricity for some time until this is all sorted out because we canceled Just Energy and our previous provider was canceled too, leaving us with NO ONE. And I refuse to stay with Just Energy. I wasn't even truly a customer and I am more disappointed/enraged than I have ever been with a company. JUST STEER CLEAR OF THEM. DO NO DO IT. They are ridiculous people who LIE just so they can probably get a commission or something. I really regret ever opening my door.

 Just Energy's sales people will mislead you in the sales process to believe that their company's rates are lower, and that there are no cancellation fees. In fact when I checked my bill, my rates had jumped over 20%, and the demanded a $50 cancellation fee. I was told I could NOT speak to a manager in the service division, and their conflict resolution team has not yet produced my contract or voice recordings approving the transfer.

Stay away from this company, their sales practices are unethical and misleading. If you have friends that signed up for their "Lower Rates" do them a favor and help them get out as soon as possible.

He also told me the company I was with was charging me double per kWh which was a lie. They also start deducting from the $200 immediately. My bill for 3 days was $25. I read the reviews and I still let the salesman talk me into it. Oh, before I forget you will have a 5 year contract. And I don't work for TXU.  I had a just energy D2D agent come to my house saying it was going be cheaper cause of green energy and that it was locked in priece for life well long story short once i got my bill i saw a $50 green energy charge and when i called to cancel my contract they said it was for 5 years and if i wanted to cancel it be $75 per year i had left on contacrt idk what compeny would force customer to sign 5 year cintract it should be illegal so should the green energy charge

Our gas bill has increased by 5x the normal amount since signing up with this company!!! Disconnect notices almost monthly and 3 times (in the past year) working at home, boom power out!
I have never ever been disconnected before. The call every month threatening to disconnect.
I know I know I should have switched away. I am now doing that and bill went from $200 to $622. Not on any plan, some true flat rate bs. I don't think so, nope you will not see that out of my pocket.

My bills used to average about 200.00 monthly with TXU and now for a little over a year with Just Energy we have had 100.00 average bills now!!!! Thank yo Just Energy and also everytime I talk to any customer service agent they are in USA NOT OUTSOURCED like TXU ot Direct Energy who is a subsidiary of Centrica a Brittish company. If you are late, by ONE day, please expect to be charged a myriad of fees. If you call and spend 30 minutes on hold, they will remove a small portion of the fees as a credit on your account. Maybe anyway, or maybe they just tell you that to get you off the phone. I am stuck for another 4 and 1/2 years but will be moving the very day my contract expires.

Dishonest Company

 Upon signing up with Just Energy, the agreement was that I would receive a $75 rewards card within 8-12 weeks. After mailing in the rebate form over 4 months ago, I still have not received it. When I call to check on the rewards card everyone gives me a different phone number/website/or email to obtain the status. Then 5 months after having service I started noticing random fees on my bill. Each bill I spend 45 minutes on the phone, sometimes I get the erroneous charges fixed. They are charging me $5 each month because I won't agree to let them automatically deduct my bill from my checking account. I don't trust them and would never agree to that. They make their money by "cramming" fees to their customers.

Don't Sign Up for Automatic Payment

 Customer Service (cs) with Just Energy is the absolute worst I've ever seen. After agreeing to have my payment taken out of my bank account each month, I asked her if I should go ahead and pay my bill since it was past due. She said "yes". I said "are you sure they won't take it out of my account" and she said "no, they'll see you don't owe anything". Well guess what. $380 taken out of my account 10 days after I had paid the $380. Now it's a month later and I still don't have my money. The 1st two weeks they kept telling me "it will be put back in your account between 3-5 days." Baloney!! Finally after the third week someone said "they won't put it back in your account, they're mailing you a check which could take 3 weeks". Still waiting for my check.

Finally decded to cancel contract, i called first to find out what it would cost me, two times i was told $150.00. final bill came and i was charged $225.00.
If you can reach someone at this company dont believe a word they say...all a bunch of liars!

 They messed up our address repeatedly and we ended up getting threats to have our power cut off if we didn't pay our bill. We never received one since they messed our address up and had to call them to see what was going on. They told us their were late fees and charges added, but didn't say we had any time to pay our bill. Why should we pay for their incompetence on messing up the address!!?!

Switched immediately to another supplier. Customer service rep was demanding immediate payment or we would lost electricity.

Terrible experience all round.

 Signed a one year contract to match my lease (thank God only one year). Signing up was very easy and quick, however when I started getting my bills I was being charged almost $20 a month in BS fees. $10 for paper billing, several dollars for manual payment (mailing in a check), fee's for online payments, etc... They were very rude when I called them on the fee's (and it took several calls and hours to finally get them stopped and partially refunded). After all this our rate is still more than two cents higher than most other plans. I cannot wait to get rid of this shady supplier!

Calling The Better Business Bureau

 I checked my bill this month after several months of receiving them. They have randomly placed $18.00 worth of fees on my account. All of a sudden there is a "manual Pay fee" which is bogus since I always pay online and then there is a "OPT out of Ebill fee " for $10.95. I aksed about a previous bill in which I was charged $9.95 for choosing Ebill. So, they get you comoing or going..... I will be taking two courses of action. BBB as well as report them to the FERC. Actually make it 3. I will be calling my local news station " Take it to Akin " to see if they would like to run a story on the SCAM that they are running...... I have several months to go on this contract, but after that I can assure you I will not be back with this company and if I have anything to do with it, put them out of business or make them pay huge fines....I will also contact my lawyer to see about a clas action on these scammers.

 I moved and orginally called about Gexa energy but the lady informed me I could get cheaper energy. Which is with this crappy company. First bill was $68 with the $9.95 service charge for 4 days worth of service with 3 kwh of usage...are you kidding me? Everything has been fine for the last 4 months until this bill. A $3.50 charge for not choosing to do E-bill and a $4.95 charge for bill pay because I use the automated service and not the auto pay.
I called to ask them and the customer service idiot informed me he could help but could only keep me on the line for 5 minutes because of other customers calling in. Mind you I was on hold myself for 45 minutes waiting on someone to answer the phone. Poor customer service. I should of listened to the reviews the day after signing up and I should of cancelled my service that day. Customer beware!!!

 I signed up with Just Energy from The Power to Choose website. They were supposed to turn on my electricity on July 13th, but did not. Only July 16th-I still had no service and they would not expedite my installation request and said July 19th was the earliest they could get it set up. I ended up having to switch to Reliant Energy who got out the same day as I asked (July 17th). I talked to the director along with others at Just Energy and they ensured me that they cancelled my request on the 19th. Today, I got a bill in the mail from Reliant Energy for only 2 days - Just Energy never cancelled the request for the 19th and took over my service anyway (without my knowledge). Now I cannot switch back to Reliant because my account is frozen for only being activated for 2 days. DO NOT EVER SIGN UP WITH JUST ENERGY!!! It's the biggest mess that I've ever had to deal with. They make claims and will not even give you a confirmation number so there is not way to even have evidence of anything that happens. I am on the phone now waiting to talk to someone and it's already been 30 minutes and I haven't gotten through to anyone. The wait time to speak to a representative has been over 30 minutes EVERY time i've called. If you don't want to sit on hold in tears dealing with idiotic people for hours of your life - DO NOT GO WITH JUST ENERGY!!!!!!

I was informed that it would take 3 days and that my renter's electric would be turned off. I was told I should have called them a week earlier. No one had given me this information when I signed up. When I signed up, I did tell them that this was a rental unit and that I would cancel as soon as I rented it. I held on the telephone for twenty minutes before I was able to talk to someone and they hung up on me. Please, Please, do not sign up with this company.

 Stay away. This company is a fraud, I signed up then researched via Net' to find it's a scam. I immediately called to cancel as well as sent the proper (attached) paperwork to cancel. I simply stayed with my provider yet, I just recieved a bill from Just Energy for $98 whereas my provider bill for energy is a mere $58.
Just Energy (via, phone) claims I am still a customer of theirs but I am NOT...Thank Goodness.
It's been a hassel and all I can say is do NOT sign up. I'm grateful this company doesn't have access to my Debit account.

Even though they are offering promotions they will not change your rate. Also, when I was unemployed for nearly 2 years they would not work with me on my bill or offer any kind of help. $310 Cancellation fee even if you move

 We used them in texas for 3 years. I moved to Ohio. When we signed the contract the person who came on the door said when you move the contact terminates and there is no termination fee. When we moved and sold our house and cancelled the service, they sent me a bill with $310 for contract cancellation fee. I called the CS and told them about the move, she asked me to send the doc proving the move and assured everything will be settled. I got call another day for the same reason, I explained the person on the phone, he said that you will get a final bill with $0 balance and gave me the confirmation #. Even afetr this they kept calling me everyday (automated calls ask you to press #1 and put u on hold for 3mins to talk to real person). These people were very rude and kept asking for $310 even if i explained that the account is settled. I don't know what to do as they are complete liers.
Don't ever even consider their service. They knock your door give you the best rate which is only good for 6months. Don't sign anything just by bilieveing the person who knocked on your door or on the phone.

When I call I am put on hold, once for over an hour, then they tell me to pay my bill sooner!  They have a lot of offers, variable plus fixed 1 year up to 5 years. I ended up choosing a 1 year fixed with them, as I have a 1 year lease. Green was 2c more but I opted not to for the time being.
A friend told me about them. Although, I chose them because the price was great, got a bonus gift card, and they are a big name.
Customer service call was almost flawless, got put on hold for a few minutes while they checked credit.

Change of Heart About JustEnergy

 I had originally given a poor review and wished the death of this company. I change my mind. I had a contract for 16.3/kwh when the rates were in the 20's 3 years ago. I finally decided I would pay the fee for ending the contract early and called them about 3 times and sent several emails asking how much the fee would be and then letting them know that I was going to another company for a better rate if they would not reduce my rate without penalty. They did! My rate went from 16.3 to 10.5 immediately, as I said after about a month of calling and emailing. Also, it wasn't as low as I requested. I wanted 9.0 which was what I saw as the average for the competitors. I am satisfied with JustEnergy at this point.

CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT AND WAS KEPT ON HOLD FOR 2 HOURS.

 I do not have their service nor will I ever have their service.
Their employees have harassed me and my family to switch with no regard for the fact I have told them multiple times that I am not interested. Why would I want to switch to a company that treats people like that? I was told they would continue the harassment until I switched. The Texas PUC along with the HCSO have been contacted about their abusive practices. If you switch that is your business I just want you to know the mentality of the company that you are dealing with.

Worst Customer service billing experience ever

 I have been with this company for over 4 years and finally will change providers. They continously cash my electronic payments then state I didn't pay my bill. I then forward the 3 month history of them actually cashing my cheques and then they change my account status to current. Every month the check is cashed early from my bank and they send me a dissconnect notice every other month. One time they send a bill for over $13,500.00 for usage... My bill averages $250.00/month. It took multiple calls to get them to reverse the charge and correct the bill. They have terrible billing and customer service. This is the first time I have ever actually rated a company but my experience has been so bad for so long I hope a potential future customer can learn from my experience. I will also be forwarding a written complaint to the State energy board. I have never been late on a payment in 4 years but they have disconnected me once due to their own internal accounting issues.

 I have been with U.S.Energy Savinngs for over 2 years, which is now Just Energy. I have absolutely no complaints on any level & have a good rate of 12 Cents Per K.W.H. & I did sign
up for 5 years, 2 years ago. No problem with
customer serv., or anything else. I would have
to give it a 5 rating as far as I'm concerned.

 I am a customer of Just Energy and and employee as well. The only time my bills are high is around Christmas time with all the lights we have on. My contract is almost up and I will resign with them; not just becasue I work there but because they do save me money. If you are being over charged...look at your usage and multiple...do the math. It is not that complex. If you are not getting an actual meter read...then call centerpoint. complain to them since all Just Energy does is bill you for what is used. We don't service you or read your meters. Get Educated!

Concering Just Energy

 I am a customer and an Employee of Just Energy since 2008. I have also taken advantage of their green energy program. I am not writing on here to convince people to take this program, it truely speaks for itself. Although our NY market is relatively new and I have not seen the end of a 5 year program. I am aware of their high percentage of customers, North America Wide, that resign after their term ends. I'm sure most people realize that people are more likely to call and complain than they are to call and make a complement. I'm just not sure people are fully aware of what this company is capable of.

 Signed on with US Energy Savings, with a fixed rate, and the first bill was wonderful, much lower than my previous provider. The next bill wasn't recognized, because it now said Just Energy, so I put it in my junk mail pile. When my lights were disconnected, I learned that Just Energy WAS my electric provider. I saw bills that increased monthly from $300 to $400 to $500 to $600, and cancelled. My final bill with the cancellation is now over $1200--over $800 of that is the cancellation fee. I am a single woman on partial hours and I just feel ROBBED by Just Energy.

 I have been with Just Energy since May 2009 - I have found them cooperative and pleasant. They explained to me my alternatives. They have unfortunately been blamed for "Ercot" charges. They offer a bundled rate - their contract is very fair. I have read it. Those that complain do not realize how much the would be paying with their old supplier. In the words of Ron White "You can't fix stupid."

I Pray They Go Out Of Business

 I pray they go out of business so that I can get out of this contract. They held my bill in June and July 2009, a couple of the hottest months in Texas and I have to pay a total of $1500 in electrictiy bills. PUCTX writes to ask them for a deferred billing plan but I will be charged late fees because they held my bills!Also, they are now one of the more expensive providers. PUCTX as usual is very unhelpful and is not about consumer protection. I pray JustEnergy/USEnergy goes out of business so I can choose a provider at a better rate. Of course, with them charging nearly 8 cents more per kwh, they can afford to stay in business longer than most.
