"Buyer Be Ware"
“ Spark Energy jacked-up my rate 53% after original 9 month term expired. Rate went from 9.5/kwh to 14.5/kwh plus Sparks added additional fees and charges. At time of expiration average 1 month terms were 10.3/kwh. I would have understood a slight increase to current month-to-month or variable rates, but Sparks didn't do that. I was billed at the 14.5/kwh plus extra fees for over 4 months until I recently changed to another supplier at 8.99/kwh + PUC tax, 12 month term, with NO ADDITIONAL Fees or Charges. I had no billing surprises with the new supplier.Shame on me for not seeing the end of term notice Spark Energy sent me. I feel Spark Energy took advantage of my mistake. Bottom line, Buyer Be Ware when dealing with Spark Energy. ”

“ Last billing period my bill was for $544.00. Even though this was a colder than normal period, it was way high for this small 2 br house. Was I getting the Constellation rate for that period? ”

Customer No Service!
“
Constellation sent letter thanking me for my request for level billing.
I did not order that.
Tried calling their customer service number for the last 3 weeks at various times during the day.
You remain on hold listening to messages about how important your call is to them.
After several calls remaining on hold for 35 mins. I was cut off.
Exactly the same cut off time waiting on 7 calls to them.
Ive sent requests for change back to actual usage billing online 3 times in the last 2 months.
Recording says you can send email.
Tried that, no response.
Promised gift card after first 3 months of service for signing up for their electric service.
Still waiting.
They were the lowest cost electricity provider.
Once you sign up they are gone.
Promotional gift cards are promises with no delivery, ”

I should have listened to the negative reviews
“ I am a new customer to Xoom. I contacted the company about my first bill I received that was for only 2 service days. Starting 9/1 ending 9/3. They charged me the full AGL base passthrough fee of $28 dollars for only 2 service days. When I inquired why my first bill would only be for 2 days or why they could not prorate/credit my bill they said Sorry. Our system automatically starts new service dates on 1st of each month. Okay no problem, but if they know new service starts on the first why would they have their billing system setup to end statements on the 3rd of each month? This means each new customer gets charged the full AGL passthrough fee for only an initial 2 day service period. Seems like a scam and a rip off too me. They tried to tell me it all had to do with the day the meter was read. Okay fine too, but charging people a full base fee for only a 2 day service bill is unethical at best. ”
