“  This company is great at scamming but thats about all they are good at. Im a college student looking to save a quick buck and was essentially prayed on for that. The door to door person came to my apartments back door which was not appreciated because its directly connected to a bedroom. They were persistent with their deal and were very convincing when explaining the money I would save. This was far from the truth. As spring is coming around we turned our heat off and the bill continued to be the same. I go to look at my electric bill thru my main supplier and it was only $40!!! Yet I was paying and extra $100 due to the fees and being a member with IDT. I was shocked, these fees I thought were just our electric bill because I was not told about them, I have been paying on the for months and the money I could have save is unbelievable. I did not speak to a rep when cancelling my services but rather thru the live chat, overall was an ok experience but they did try to push new promotions on to me which I obviously did not take. So take this advice from a chump that fell for it and DO NOT use this companys services!! ”

“  How ironic??....I just had a family member try to aggressively switch me to Xoom energy and I said "no" after reading a few bad reviews in other states about that "outsourced" supplier. Well, I received my bill this month and it was over $400 and I thought.. WOW ! (over $250 was related to my very own "outsourced" supplier)... Now it's been cold but I don't think I have ever had a bill in the winter months so high. I 've had Cincinnati Bell Energy for a couple of years and I never really understood what I was switching over to...shame on me. We hear save money and we jump to save money. ...I am sure, in the beginning, I had a good rate... BUT, like many of us, we get busy and we don't remember to follow up on plans that are locked in for specific time frames. So I called both companies to understand my bill and found out that I am currently on a month to month variable rate plan with Cincinnati Bell Energy. I paid .10 cent/ kWh when I could have paid .48 cent/kWh with my current provider. I paid double the price... I learned a $125 lesson! (That is a significant difference in the winter when your usage is higher.., but now I now). Their customer service department was extremely nice and helpful and offered to lock me in around .5 cent/kWh but who wants to remember to follow up in 12 months AND it was still higher than what I would have paid my primary carrier. So I cancelled but please make sure you ask about cancellation and term fees. I didn't have any fees on my agreement but it is always important to check. I blame myself and not Cincinnati Bell Energy. They are in the business to make money .... So the moral of the story is...I know more today than I did yesterday! ”

“  Had a team come to our hosue, show us paperwork and breakdown the electric / gas bill for our Duke eneregy bill. Showed us exactly how the bill would be changed, and told us to "say yes on the phone" to the people at duke to change the service.

Our bill we were told would be 20 dollars cheaper a month.... IT INCREASED BY OVER 125 a month. Considering a class action lawsuit against this company for its consumer fraud and unsafe business practices.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH. ”

“  I signed up for a limited time (3 months) discounted rate. I knew that my rate would go up, but not to DOUBLE the price of Duke energy! Not to mention, NRG did not even honor the first three month discount. My rates started systematically hiking after just two months until I was paying nearly double what I would have been paying with Duke. I'm embarrassed that I did not look at my rates earlier as I had a feeling this would turn out bad. Of course, I could not look at my rates because there does not appear to be any sort of online account that gives me this sort of transparency. I was also on hold with their support center for way too long, but that's what you'd expect out of a company like this. ”

“  I did the submission and it never went through. Not sure whether it was Ohio Energy Services or Public Power never received it....but my current electric provider charged me a very high rate and my June bill was crazy high. $200 more than I expected! ”
