Dayton, Ohio, birthplace of Orville Wright of Wright brothers fame, is located in Montgomery County and is the 6th largest city in the state. Population records indicate that Dayton proper has a population nearing 150,000 residents while the surrounding metropolitan area is almost 800,000 residents in total.

Founded in 1796, today Dayton is well known for its healthcare, defense, and aerospace industries. In 2011, Dayton ranked third in the United States by HealthGrades for excellence in healthcare.

Dayton has a rich history in aviation. Popular local attractions include the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, the oldest and largest military aviation museum in the world (admission is free).
