Disconnect Fees and Problems (352 reviews)
Too quick to disconnect
“ Just started with Frontier. Had paid our previous bills. Got a bill due Dec. 26 - day after Christmas. Slipped through the proverbial cracks. Got a call from Frontier on Jan. 9 saying we need to pay or they'd disconnect. Fair. We paid that night.Shockingly, they still disconnected us the next day. When I called, Francisco, a manager, confirmed that they had indeed received our money the night before. He had no good explanation. To be fair, he did say they would waive the disconnect and reconnect fees as well as the late fees.Just customer beware: Frontier is a very aggressive Company. Will shut you down if you're two weeks late. ”

Bad Customer Service
“ Ive been a customer for over 5 years.. Not really any problems until recently. You cannot understand ANY of the employees anymore. They are all foreign and communication is now horrible, even with SUPERVISORS! I stopped getting my messages and ive repeatedly complained to no conclusion. I can't get anyone to explain this. They have disconnected my service AFTER I've made payments and still wanted me to pay the reconnect...after sitting on the phone for an hour! They USED to be good. ”

High Dissatisfied!
“ I was with Green Mountain Energy for 8 months and had no previous issues until now. Back in January, I submitted a payment that I initially thought posted. I came home from my aparement yesterday and noticed that my power was turned off. Long story short, Green Mountain had a glitch in their system where my payment was returned, even though I had money in the banke to cover the payment. I even doubled back with my bank to make sure that I had enough money to cover the payment at the time and I did. They informed me that it was an issue within their GME's system and that they weren't sure why my payment was returned. I was charged almost $60 in late fees, reconnection fees and disconnection fees. Even if I didn't pay my electricity bill (which I did), it was only 14 days past due. They cut my electricity off because of an error on their end and it was only 14 days late (because of an error on their end). I am highly dissatisfied and frustrated with the inconvenience of not having power when I got home that evening. They initially told me that it could take up to 3 days to restore my power, but then later retracted their statement and told me that since I had a smart meter it would be restored within 4 hours. I cancelled with Green Mountain the next morning and went with TXU instead. I will not continue to give my money to a company that cuts my power off because of an error on their behalf! Also, it takes too long to reach a customer service representative. There are too many prompts and information that you have to enter. When you're that upset, you don't want to waste 5 minutes speaking to an automated system just to speak to someone who can assist you. Good riddance! ”

Good rates, but...............
“ I have been with APG&E for six months. Their cash appliations is terrible. They have failed to apply my timely made payments for days / weeks and send me a disconnection notice every single month despite having my money. Although the price is good, the time spent each month trying to get this straight is not worth it. I haven't looked yet, but if they are reporting me to the credit bureau as a slow payor then that could be even a bigger issue. ”

not good if you have to pay late
“ They not the worst, but certainly not the best. The rates are 'ok', but what will get you is if you have to pay late. 3 days after the due date, they issue a disconnect letter, and there is a $30 charge if they send it. It's a ridiculous practice and the customer service dept is not very helpful. ”
