    Dayton, Ohio, birthplace of Orville Wright of Wright brothers fame, is located in Montgomery County and is the 6th largest city in the state. Population records indicate that Dayton proper has a population nearing 150,000 residents while the surrounding metropolitan area is almost 800,000 residents in total.

    Founded in 1796, today Dayton is well known for its healthcare, defense, and aerospace industries. In 2011, Dayton ranked third in the United States by HealthGrades for excellence in healthcare.

    Dayton has a rich history in aviation. Popular local attractions include the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, the oldest and largest military aviation museum in the world (admission is free). Also popular is a visit to Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park, the location of the Wright brothers Wright Cycle Company.

    On the northeast side of Dayton, you will find Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, a leader in military aviation development since the Wright brothers.

    Dayton also has many cultural attractions. Two of the most popular are The Dayton Art Institute, one of the area's premier fine arts museums featuring over 5,000 years of art history and the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the Miami Valley's oldest and longest-standing cultural institutions.

    If you are ever in town for a conference or trade show, you will most likely spend a fair or time at the Dayton Convention Center, the regions premier mid-sized event facility conveniently located in the heart of downtown Dayton.
