I switched online and received a confirmation from them with a transfer date. My was seamless. My first bill from Dominion East Ohio gas with the new supplier had a substantial savings. I used a little more gas for the billing period yet my total bill was over $50 LESS.

I had noticed that the contract with my present natural gas supplier had expired and I was on a monthly rate. I checked the Ohio Energy Ratings charts to find a new supplier. The company I was with had a promtional rate, but not for existing customers. I never understood why these companies, like banks, are looking for new customers but aren't interested in retaining their existing ones. The rewards program is a JOKE.
there is no cash value. I was told when I signed up that you can get 25.00 per month placed in your rewards account and redeem them in up to 500,000 ways.
I monitored my rewards account each month and they gave 25.00 cash value till I had $375. saved up.
I got on the site to redeem it for gift cards and find out that I get a measly 3-8 dollar discount on each $100.
As I finished my online order it directed me to a payment screen asking for credit card information.
For my 375. Reward value I had to PAY
360.
They were vigorously deceptive when I signed up for a plan that assured me 25.00 monthly.

Prices were not best, but not bad. They offered $50 bonus for contract renewal and I took it. Got first bill several weeks ago but still not that $50 bonus. Tried to call them on 1-888-200-3788 but that number seems not working - first red flag. Sent email and no response - second red flag.
I will wait another month, then have to send them letter and copy Duke Energy requesting to cancel contract since they didn't fulfil their obligations. I don't like when things are so difficult.

I signed up with Center Point Energy in June 2020.
The following month I received notice of a name change to Symmetry Energy Solutions, LLC.
At the time I initially signed up I thought I was getting a fixed rate of $2.50/MCF.
On the paper I recieved in the mail it showed a "Managed Rate" of $2.50/MCF.
My Dominion Gas bill is paid thru my checking account.
I reviewed my bills today and noticed the rate was $2.75/MCF, which is different from the $2.50/MCF that I thought I'd signed up for in June.
I contacted Symmetry today to inquire about the difference and was told that
I had contracted for their "Managed Rate" and not the Fixed Rate.
I have to accept the resposibility for this, although it was not clear
at the time I signed up.
As they say "caveat emptor".

I signed up for service online. I received a letter requesting a phone call as there was a problem.
The representative was pleasant and stated that the problem was that the account could not be switched because the account is presently listed under my wife and me. Apparently, that is unacceptable(?) to your company. To remedy this, It was requested, by your company, that I call my existing gas supplier and change the account name so that it can be changed from their company to yours! I asked why?My existing supplier doesn't have a problem with my wife and I on the account. Your company does. As strange as this sounded, I remained calm and asked to speak to a manager. I expected this to happen soon as the representative conferred with her earlier to get the information about why there was a problem with the switchover. However, after a moment the representative came back and stated that the manager would have to call me back. I said okay and that was the last have heard from CenterPoint.

Here's a legal definition that applies to this review of Symmetry Energy Solutions: "Criminal Price Gouging refers to when retailers and others take advantage of spikes in demand by charging exorbitant prices for necessities, often after a natural disaster or other state of emergency."
I have property with two buildings of similar size (+/- 1500 heated square ft.) in Santa Fe, NM. Both are supplied by the same gas-line via New Mexico Gas Company, but one building is serviced through NM Gas Co., and the other through Symmetry Energy Solutions LLC. NM Gas Company actually supplies/delivers gas to both structures from the same infrastructure.
New Mexico Gas Company's bill for Building #1 last month (2/2023) was $55.36 Symmetry Energy Solutions bill was/is $815.64 !!!!! NM Gas Company's price for natural gas was $6.74/mmBTU. Symmetry's was, ever so mysteriously, a whopping $33.27/mmBTU, for the same billing period.
Let me also state for the record that there are only two wall-mounted space heaters in the building "serviced" by Symmetry Energy, and they are set at either low or off at all times. The heat in this small building is kept at +/- 45 degrees, just warm enough to keep the plumbing from freezing. This fact is self-verifying, given the low volume/gas-usage recorded for this structure.
Symmetry calls itself a transporter of gas to this location -- but, in fact, NM Gas Co. is the real physical transporter, and Symmetry does not have infrastructure here they do NOTHING but bill/invoice customers for a so-called"service" that piggy-backs off of the supply chain and infrastructure of NM Gas Company. The only difference between the two companies is that NM Gas Co. is a viable and honest company, and Symmetry is a price-gouging criminal enterprise.
Prior to this jaw-dropping, price-gouging bill I received this past month from Symmetry Energy, they sent out a vague email (which I have retained a copy of) to grease the wheels on their price gouging this email was entitled "Causes of Unusually High Natural Gas Invoices Payment Plan Options." This email, oddly enough, had no actual dollar amounts or percentage-of-increase amounts named or indicated. In fact, it failed to mention that they planned to stick it to their customers with bills nearly 5X THE AMOUNT that NM Gas Company is charging per mmBTU.
Last winter (2022) I had received similar emails from Symmetry (which I retain copies of, as well) that also tried to grease the wheels on their upcoming price-gouging. While annoying, I did not deem the increased bill-amounts as falling outside the realm of possibility/reality. For example, my Symmetry Energy bill for January, 2021 was $41.11 -- but in January 2022, after receiving one of their greasing-the-wheels-for-price-gouging emails (also vague on hard facts, details, and actual pricing) that same volume/usage cost me $136.77 Thus, I expected to receive a bill in this similar range for the same time period of 2023. I literally was unable to sleep last night after seeing this bill for $815.64
In my opinion, Symmetry Energy are thieves who think "write" makes "right." Astoundingly unethical -- and yes, criminal in their pricing. It appears to me that if you sign up for their service, you should be prepared to be making the CEO's Ferrari and yacht payments.

January and February have proven to be extremely volatile times for CA customers, particularly customers billed through PG&E and SoCal City Gates.
Index prices from IFERC (which Symmetry does not set), published over 3.5x higher than December and over 6.8x higher than in November. The published index rate, which Symmetrys rate is based on, is published above $50/dth for PGE and SoCal City Gates.
Unfortunately, the unusual cold snap in CA caused increased demand which was met with historically low natural gas storage levels, ultimately increasing rates across the board.

You have allowed gas companies to gouge consumers during February 2021. Where is your concern to your own consumers. Gouging is illegal in this State!

When I was shopping for the better rates for the renewed contract, I've found the Symmetry with the fairly good rate. When I submitted the application, it suddenly adjusted the rate to the average, which was worse then its nearest competitors. My attempts to connect with the folks weren't answered. I attempted to sign up with them for my gas supplier. The girl put me on hold 3 times as was unable to answer the simplest of questions (what is your early termination fee? Shes put me on hold come back and say well there isnt any unless you terminate. Right so if I term how much is it? On hold again. Bottom line she didnt even know what early term fee was and shes in customer service! I asked how long she worked there Ive been here awhile its been 4 months. What! 4 months is a long time now! Then was transferred and put on hold for 48 minutes. I finally hung up. They tried calling me and said thank you for signing up I had to call them back to tell them I did NOT sign up we never finalized the million questions and I wouldnt use them if they were giving the service away for free! The absolute worst customer service I think Ive ever seen and I am 64 years old and worked for 43 years so I think I know what Im talking about. Do not under Any circumstance use this company!
